REAL FOOTBALL Thread

BTW the Steelers shut the Broncos down, There's a real chance the Steelers defense is good and the Falcons offense was rusty.

That still doesn't explain why Cousins was basically motionless. Or why they refused to have him under center. Or why the offense was super predictable based on pistol vs shotgun. Or why the coaches refused to do anything about Watt abusing the RT.

If Cousins ankle is limiting him, things could unravel quick. This staff isn't anywhere near good enough to plan around that. They probably aren't even qualified to plan their next dump.

If we don't make the playoffs I fully expect Fontenot to be fired.

Thaty being said I think some of your likely losses are silly. Denver is Ass, Minnesota will be tough, Carolina only a likely win? Carolina is probably going to be one of the worst teams in NFL history.

I could see Denver going either way. Probably a toss up. A lot depends on how Nix progresses.

There's no such thing as a sure win in the NFL. We managed to lose to Carolina last year. I think we'll win those games but if the offense plays like last week, who knows?

Minny has a competent QB, the best WR in football, and a good defense. As long as they are healthy, they will be very good. But they are pretty thin at the skill positions currently, so they really can't afford another injury.

Yeah I don't know why anyone would put the Broncos down as a likely loss. Bo Nix is significantly worse than the QB he replaced, and that team won 8 games a year ago.

I didn't think the Bears could ****up Caleb Williams, but 7 sacks, damn.

To be fair, the Texans will likely end up leading the league in sacks this year. That front 7 is simply loaded. And that is without Denico Autry who is currently suspended. Autry has averaged 9 sacks/year over the last 3 years.

What must it be like for a Bears fan to watch Justin Fields play pretty decently and already be 2-0?

With Caleb Williams being in his second game I'm sure Bears fans are not panicking yet.

However, if I was a Carolina fan I'd be panicking with the way Young is playing in his second year.

They're 2-0 b/c of their defense, not Fields. Steelers have given up 10 and 6 points in their 2 games, most QB's will win those games. Chicago still did the right decision to pick Caleb, and reset the QB clock.

Its not just drops - Its literally TD pass drops.

I hope we arent calling most of these drops. Seems like he has poor spacial awareness when it comes to the sideline/back line of the endzone.

I think there's a reason Young didn't throw at the combine. I rarely watch the combine, but I had nothing else going during the QB drills that afternoon and watched Stroud put on a show (but so did Levis so it can be a bit deceiving). I still can't believe the Panthers opted for Young. Maybe Stroud flunked the interview.

As for the Bears, it would be nice if their offensive line understood the concept of the snap count.

Thats the issue. When you have to pay a QB, you cant spend elsewhere so the QB needs to be elite.

All he needs is an offensive line to give him time.

Purdy is throwing his receivers open. They have a metric of completion percentage above expected based on seperation and Purdy was throwing into massive tight windows yesterday still giving his receivers good looks to catch the ball. He is awesome.

Can just draft 2-4th round guys as they lose their studs when they put tenders on them.

So after 6 years of sucking, we are claiming hes competent after 2 weeks?

If you are 5-10, you need some special tools. What tools does he have?

They have played no one and aren't even asking him to pass. Bears fans shoulnd't be worried.

I get that. But Fields is also playing well, despite their skill players being rather mediocre. I'm not saying he's an mvp or anything, but it's clear the Steelers understand how to get the most out of him.

Let's not pretend like the Bears don't aren't famous for ruining QBs.
