REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Wasn't just Julio - Roddy White / Tony Gonzalez were incredible weapons. THey had decent running backs and a solid offensive line as well.

Bottom line is once Stafford got onto a winning franchise he won.
Ryan elevated every player he played with. What did any of the falcons RBs do after Atlanta?

How was Tevin Coleman for you guys? What did Devonta Freeman do?

Tony G's 2012 was arguably one of his top 4 seasons. And he was 36.

Roddy White was easily better with Ryan than he was with anyone else. Even his Harrington/Leftwich year.

Ryan's line was never that good. it wasn't bad, but he made that line.

Don't act like all he had was Julio though - Its revisionist history at best.

Stafford is much better than Ryan and I don't think its close personally. Doesn't mean Ryan isn't good but Stafford is an all time great and if he wasn't saddled with being a Lion the majority of his career he would have multiple super bowl victories?

If he was the QB of Ryan's falcon teams? My God....

Stafford is not an all time great. You say Saddled with the Lions, but more than half his career in Detroit he threw to Megatron, who is arguably the most talented WR to ever play the game.

Then he got to go to LA and play with again top 3 offensive mind in the NFL. And he hasn't been that great. he got MVP this year but it was in a shit MVP season. Similar to 2023. His numbers this year weren't great and his efficiency stats sucked.

If you could re-write history. Give Purdy the MVP in 2023, Lamar last year and Allen gets his life time achievement MVP this year.

ONE PLAYER ZITO - ONE PLAYER. Thats basically all Stafford got as a Lion.

Yes - when Stafford played for a good team he won. JUST LIKE RYAN - just without the SB.

That one player was an elite elite WR.

He also had Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, Eric Ebron (who went on to have his best season after leaving Detroit) TJ Hockenson. etc. Sure you could argue Ryan's 2nd and 3rd best weapons were better, but Stafford's 4th-8th and his 1 were better.

Stafford is great, but Ryan is so much better. Anyoen who watched them play could see that. Stafford has better arm skills, but Ryan had the brain. We only have limited data but Ryan was more efficient. Stafford from 2021 to now has a .101 EPA/Play +CPOE, Ryan wit hthe Falcons (which would be 2016-2021) he had a .127.

Stafford is one of th emost overated QBs out there. He's good, but he wwas clearly behind the truly elite of his era (Brady, Peyton,Brees, and Rodgers) and he clearly was behind the next group (Roethliberger, Rivers, and Ryan) and honestly, I dont' know if I put him over guys like Romo, Eli, and Wilson.

He had some big numbers, but he just isn't a great QB. He is a known stat padder and he is not close to the cause of success in LA. He's basically there to stop them from losing.

Put STafford on those Falcon teams and they win multiple championships. Ryan was limited 20 yards down the field - we all saw the noodle arm in real time.

No fucking way. Ryan didn't have a bazooka, but you don't need a bazooka, you need to throw and accurate 20 yard out. Ryan could do that. Stafford on the Falcons would have had a lot more losing seasons than Ryan.

Except when Stafford played for a winning organization he had an unbelievable win rate.
