REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Well, Cousins is officially no longer a Falcon. I said when they signed him that it was a stupid decision. Signing him then drafting Penix should be near the top of the list of dumb moves by NFL teams.
I wasn't fully opposed to signing him, I was against signing and drafting Penix. If their goal was getting a QB then they should have signed Danielle Hunter instead and drafted a QB and signed like a vet placeholder like Jameis, etc.

What a werid free agency, so many meh guys getting paid. Big names still sitting out there like Jennings, Decker, Hill, Deebo, Taylor, and Diggs,

I think there are significant questions about Deebo, Diggs and Hill… Jennings needs to prove it more and prove he can be successful outside of SF… Decker’s a bit of a surprise but not sure Taylor is much of a “big name”

Taylor was a 20 million a year OL. Maybe not a big name in terms of probowls, APs, etc. but he signed a 4/80 deal with the Chiefs 3 years ago.

A Kyle Pitts swap would be pretty interesting for both teams. The Giants still need some offensive help for Dart. The Falcons might have to kick in an extra pick in 2026 or 2027.
I just can't see Cunningham parting with a pick when we're so mid. I could see a swap of some sort like Pitts and maybe potential pick swaps. But I can't see much being offered.

Zachariah Branch might have the record for the weakest arrest in pre-draft history. He was apparently outside a bar in Athens, GA as part of a crowd on a sidewalk. A cop ordered him to move. He "smirked" and only moved a little. The cop then arrested him.

For those that don't know, unlike most college towns whose police protect football players, Athens police love arresting Georgia football players. Georgia players are routinely arrested in Athens for traffic infractions and less. Smirking and obstructing a sidewalk is weak even by Athens police standards.

If any team drops him on their board for this then the Athens police department should be paying damages.
