REAL FOOTBALL Thread

And Cutler had way better weapons last year. Congrats for proving my point.

I'd take Kaepernick 10 times out of 10. They're about equals as passers with probably a slight advantage to Kaepernick, then you realize one is a dual threat QB and it makes the choice much easier

Cutler had better weapons one year.

Other than that, hes had **** for weapons, and his OL for the most part has been ass while SF has one of the top 2-3 OL's in football.

I'd still take Kap over Cutler though.

It's not crazy to say Cam > Kap.

Cam has **** weapons, a **** OL, a good, not great defense.

SF is arguably the most talented team in the league with depth everywhere.

You could argue Kap anywhere from 7-12 or 13 or so.

It's not crazy. I just don't agree with it. For me I take Kaepernick over Cam based on what I've seen watching them play.

He had better weapons 1 year out of the 2 years in my sample. Durrrrrrr

How is he Better than Newton or Luck? Cutler and stafford could be argued. Romo is much better.

Something has to be said about guys that don't turn the ball over. Newton is a less successful version of Kaepernick right now. Luck is solid but throws too many interceptions. Cutler is terrible, I don't even know why you're trying to argue that. Stafford has the best receiver in the league and still throws a **** ton of interceptions. How many playoff wins does Romo have? He's been going at it for 10 years with some solid teams and hasn't done squat with them.

Kap doest een throw much bc he has the best supporting cast in NFL. He doesnt throw int bc he always has lead and can play safe.

How many playoff wins would Romo have on SF? Probably have a ring

49ers offensive talent around Kaep last year wasn't incredible. Not horrible by any stretch of hte imagination but it wasn't what you are making it out to be. This year they have ridiculous talent on offense.

Colin Kaepernick specifically requested his deal allow 49ers flexibility to negotiate extensions with players such as WR Michael Crabtree.

Offense/defense/ special teams. Tale out QB and SF is best team in NFL.

No way...seattle was better than them excluding QB.

But again, if we are just talking about Kaeps performance then you have to understand the offense wasn't top notch last year with the talent AROUND Kaep.

So the reports coming out now is that Kaeps deal is VERY team friendly. Hope its true and if so that says a lot about Kaep and the confidence in himself that he will be healthy throughout the whole contract. That 60M number reported is not guaranteed in the way that we are used to understanding it.

You can spin the language any way you want. Its a monster contract for a non elite player.

I'm not spinning anything. These are people who are NFL reporters saying this. I don't know crap about how contracts are structured.

But the one thing I do know is that usually signing bonuses for QB's are 2-3 times what Kaep asked for.

Not true.

But if you put a better QB on that team they would have won the Super Bowl.

Possible but Denver had a sick team and they got smoked with the best QB in the NFL against Seattle. Its not a sure thing SF beats Seattle with a different QB.

In not too long the same thing will happen to RGMe. After sorry ass Jay Cutler signed a contract bigger than Ryan's it was obvious that if you weren't horrific you will get paid.

1/3 of the starters were on IR, they were outmatched vs Seattle.

He's made 3 of the last 7 SB's, what a bad rep.

Not saying he hasnt had some bad games though, all QB's have.

Despite playing on some all time great teams, Peyton has a very steep large sample showing he plays worse typically in the playoffs than the regular season.

All QB's do.

Better competition/defenses, numbers typically go down, not nothing new, derp derp.

Like that for most QB's.

And given they won 2 games when he was gone i would have to disagree on those all-time great teams.
