REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Between the Braves lying down and folding up camp and UGA losing a heartbreaker that they should have won, it's shaping up to be a horrible sports weekend. Need the Falcons to surprise me, but it just feels like one of those weekends.

So you believe in big gov controlling how parents raise their kids? Could point ot a number of things that can be as harmful if not more harmful than hitting a kid.

Raise or punish with a stick? Because those are totally different words

What I believe is that if you did hit a kid that many times with a stick to create that much damage, you could probably be honest with yourself and say "I F'd up". Get real. He was 4.

Oh El Oh el about Big bad govt raising your kids... Most laughable comment you have ever posted. "Once enrolled in a govt mandated health plan, it came with guidelines about to dos and donts of child rearing"

It's a local dfcs office, not congress.

You can discipline kids without hitting them repeatedly with a stick and leaving cuts on their groin. But, whatever.

And you can **** kids up without ever laying a hand on them. Where's the line drawn? Is it only abuse if you can see it? What if a parent mentally tortures a kid? I could go on but this is a football thread. The environment AP was raised in for sure is different than the average white male, hell I bet the environment I was raised in was probably different than the average person on here.

That doesn't excuse hitting a freaking 4-year-old like that. Jesus Christ.

Excuse, no, Explain yes. Kids were raised for generations getting hit worse than AP did to his kid. Is it "right" probably not, but the kid wasn't seriously put in danger. JMO this is a domestic dispute, not a criminal dispute. Just my 2 pennies.

I think counseling would be better than jail time. I don't think he wanted to harm the kid or anything, but he needs to check himself and understand he screwed up.

So we know that all that is a from Peterson huh?

I didn't realize him fathering children was such a horrible terrible thing. I bet those women getting millions of dollars for raising his children are just devastated.

And that makes it right? I'm no bluenose, but I'm just sick and tired of these supposed role models spreading their seed indiscriminately. Peterson has done a lot of charity work in Minnesota and he hasn't reached Shawn Kemp proportions yet, but I think he'd be better served to keep it in his pants.

I don't think the women are getting rich. His biological child he fathered that died last year as a result of injuries sustained from physical abuse inflicted by the child's mother's boyfriend was living in an apartment in S.D. Hardly the lap of luxury.

Talk about moving goal posts. Wow.

Back to NFL:

Only a few solid games this week. Not a whole lot to get excited about. Gotta like Atl/Cincy. Like Atl + PTs on the road.

Also think the Jags beat the Skins in an "upset" so to speak.

Seriously **** DirecTV. I pay like 300 bucks for Sunday ticket. This season the red zone channel is an additional 50 dollars. For as long as that channel has been around it's been included with Sunday ticket.

Falcons have been fine in coverage, need to pressure Dalton more and have to cover the underneath stuff better and stuff the run better.
