REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I can't wait to hear that crazy Cowboy fan call into Dan Patrick's show tomorrow morning. The ginger and grandpa struck tonight.

Shae came on an trash the coaching of the Cowboys. I love his "whatever" comment to DP.

I love it when he comes on. He really spices up the show.

Romo is 6th active in the NFL, he's just above halfway to Peyton's career total. He has 1 more GWD than Ryan despite him never having a trainwreck team like Ryan has the last 2 seasons, and Ryan having almost a season worth less starts.

Romo is a fine QB, but even a stat like 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives doesn't mean someone is great when relied upon. Romo is a tale of 2 QBs all too often. He can be dazzling and highly effective, or he can look like ****. He's seemingly modelled himself after Brett Favre, but without the talent Favre has. He's a fine QB but don't go overrating him.

LMAO every convo of every QB begins and ends with Matt Ryan. Romo has had plenty of ****ty teams, see last year. He's just done a better job of overcoming defensive woes. Ryan was also part of more talented teams in the past than Romo has had. Romo has never had a good, half-way reliable defense in Dallas. Never ever.

One could argue Romo has prevented the Cowboys from only winning 4, 5, or 6 games multiple times. Like last year.

I hate "game wining drive" stats

It's a stat that is only relevant for teams who are losing late... I understand that a big enough sample is kind of relevant... But Matt Stafford is gonna have more game winning drives than Peyton Manning this year, and it's ain't because Stafford is better than Manning.

Depends what you mean by "reliable" as it's not a quantifiable term.

2011 Dallas had the 16th most efficient defense, 2009 10th, 2008 9th, 2007 9th, 2006 14th.

For ****s and giggles lets look at how many times Ryan was top 16 2010 14th, 2011, 8th, 2012 12th.

And without going back and looking at it, I highly doubt that Romo ever had a defense as pathetic as Atlanta the last 2 years. Atlanta's defense sucks massively.

Wow, you are so dumb sometimes. Dallas had statistically the worst defense of all time lastyear IIRC>

17th most efficient in the NFL.

Looking at conventional stats. They let up the most yards in the NFL last year, But weren't last in points scored. And without looking too much further into the past, Cowboys conceeded 6645 yards and 432 points, year before Saints gave up 7042 yards and 454 points.

SO yeah, watch who call dumb ese.

Dallas was one of the easiest team to move the ball on in the history of sports. Give all the stats you want but when teams lined up against their defense they had no troubles moving the ball.

If that was the case, wouldn't they have given up more yards than the Saints the year before?

I'm not saying Dallas had a good defense, but advanced NFL stats and normal stats say otherwise. Seriously, you said "Dallas had statistically the worst defense of all time lastyear" then said "Give all the stats you want" are you bipolar?

Last year their defense was every bit as bad as almost anyone, ever. Anyone that watched them knows this. It was one of the worst defensive seasons ever, "defensive efficiency" be damned. They were pretty efficient in giving up yards. You love to only use one stat when it suits you. Dallas was the worst defense in the league last year. Went 8-8 with a pass heavy offense. Ryan has among the worst D in the league and...yeah. Will win 8 games combined the last two years.

I'm not using it to say he's better than anyone. I'm using it against the argument that Romo "can't get it done late in games." Clearly he can. I think he has the highest passer rating ever, of all time, in the 4th Q.

Dallas wasn't the worst defense in the NFL last year. San Diego was worse. I know you'll laugh and point to yards or points. Dallas faced a very tough offensive schedule. 5th toughest in the NFL. So while they conceded more yards and points than San Diego, all factors considered, San Diego was worse. Getting lit up by teams who're good is expected, San Diego got lit up by the Redskins after San Diego had a bye. Where Dallas trumps SD and GB who were less efficient, Dallas crumpled late in the season.

Dallas won 8 games last year cause their OL is vastly superior to the Falcons, their schedule was easier, and most importantly, DeMarco Murray. Dallas also had an easier schedule. Dallas clearly in the last 2 years has much more talent around Romo than the Falcons do around Ryan, that's not even a little debatable.

Romo had two shots to lead a late game comeback Monday night and failed both times vs. a terrible defense. He must suck.

:happy0157: dude you are something else.

Zito is truly something else.

SD held Denver to under 30 in all 3 games last year.

Dallas' defense was all-time bad.

SD also gave up like 40 points to the Chiefs and 30 points to the redskins after the bye. playing OK agains one team does not make one great.

Dallas held the Eagles to a combined 27 points in 2 games. ZOMG they must have been awesome!!!!!!111
