Supposedly the Seahawks do something similar to this. They have a passing game coordinator, but it just seems like Quinn is going to expand upon this concept. Very unusual.
I'm not worried about transferring back to a 4-3. It's not much of a risk to chance being crap when the alternative method was crap.
My thoughts too... back to a 4-3? We ran a 4-3 for over half of 2014, and terribly. We need new DE's all the way around, but have the bodies to clog the middle in that set up. Solai, Jackson, Babs, Peters, and Hageman should all benefit.
We have NO LBs to speak of, but it does put Worrilow in a better place to succeed as a true MLB that can come off the field on third downs. While solid in run support he lacks any ability to cover.
Basically the first and second levels of the D need all new bodies at LB and DE.
I will say, the D played better in the second half. Just not sure we have enough talent. Solid role players, and very little top end talent.
