Was hoping it would be the Redskins handing out a poor contract to Parnell. But alas, it was a different terrible org. in the Jaguars.

According to PFF he grades out as very good against the run and good in coverage, but not well as a pass rusher.

He was +2.4 in run defense and -0.5 in pass rush and -0.1 in pass coverage. Looks like he wasn't great at stopping run, but didn't miss a ton of tackles. Seems pretty average.

What's he like over the past few years? I don't have PFF so I'm basing it off what I've read others say.

Average is a pretty far cry from what we have fielded the passed two years. Two UDFA guys manning the LB spots...brutal.

As a WLB or SLB he would be fine I'm sure.

-17.7 overall in 2013. -0.5 in run defense
-0.9 overall in 2012. 1.0 in run defense
7.2 overall in 2011. 3.7 in run defense

I don't want Skins to go too wild in free agency, but Stephen Parea is a good addition. Will really help the pass rush. I would focus on a safety and right tackle and maybe a cheap guard and build the rest of the way through the draft.

Wouldn't be 49rs offseason without a little battery ...

49ers FB Bruce Miller was arrested last Thursday in Santa Clara, Cal. for spousal battery.
Things keep getting worse in San Francisco. Miller was Pro Football Focus' No. 2 fullback last season and is a big part of the offense as the lead blocker. The 49ers stood by DE Ray McDonald in his domestic-violence case through most of 2014.

Frank Gore getting cold feet for Philly, headed to Indy it looks like.

I'll be honest, that's a lucky break for Philly...

Per Jason Cole of Bleacher Report:

"Expect that the top five teams that are going to be looking at Greg Hardy are San Francisco, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tennesse, and Indianapolis. Those are not in any order, but those are the five teams that have projected themselves out from the rest of the NFL."

Gore can still play, a guy like Spiller or two of Spiller, Bush, Vereen would be a good fit in Chip's offense.

I saw where we may take a short run at Forsett

I think Forsett is perfect for this team. I hope that has legs.

It's going to be interesting. I don't think they end up signing anyone real major outside of Orakpo (even he with his injury issues is lower key).

However, Hardy does fill their biggest hole in the best way possible. It's a good litmus test to see how much the Falcons have changed their "falcon filter" of no character issues players.

Hardy makes a ton of sense. Probably one of the better options out there actually.
