REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Falcons agreed to terms with LB Justin Durant, formerly of the Cowboys.

29-year-old Durant has been a quality starter when healthy, but injuries have dogged him for much of his career. He tore his bicep in Week 8 of last season, landing on I.R. One of Durant's primary calling cards is his versatility. He can play all three linebacker positions. We wouldn't be surprised if Durant emerged as new coach Dan Quinn's weak-side 'backer in Atlanta.

Wouldn't think he would come at a premium, so I like it. We really needed LBs...at least 3.

I love Jimmy Graham trade. Dude just cant stay healthy and he wasnt the all pro last year that he was before the big contract. We have a good backup in Josh Hill. He cant block but neither could Graham. Getting Unger back tells me they are continuing a transition to a more running based offense. Really excited about that extra first round pick. We have so many gaping holes on defense that they would have to be morons to not find atleast 3 big upgrades with 3 picks in the top 44.

Its funny that he was traded to Seattle considering some of their players called him soft.

I'd give him a real chance to stick at safety if he would consider it. He was also on a pretty solid defense in NE, won't be the case in Wash.

That remains to be seen. Finally got rid of Haslet. It will depend on how they do in the draft. For example, defensive line of Parea/Shelton/Hatcher would be pretty nasty. They've improved the DL, if they can figure out safety, the defense could be respectable. They have some nice young pieces.

Dwayne Harris gets 7.1 M guaranteed from the Giants.

I follow this stuff fairly close, and I have no idea who that guy is or why he gets a 17M contract.

SF nabs Torrey Smith.

Saints are shopping Brees
If this is true... I'd love for him to go to Buffalo... they'd actually be relevant (on paper at least). Growing up in western NY and living here my whole life... it seems so long ago the days of Jim Kelly. Doubt it happens, though.

I like adding the draft pick for New Orleans, but didn't the Saints just give him a huge signing bonus? That really hurts to trade him so soon after that. But, ya know, sunk costs and what not.

Not true. Granted his stats weren't amazing, but he showed enough at times to think he could be as good as like Cutler or Bradford.

You are right, a 54% completion% with 6.7 yards per attempt certainly isn't amazing in college. His career high in touchdowns was 21 compared to 11 interceptions.

People fell in love with his athletic ability despite him being a terrible QB.
