REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Waiting on Derrick Morgan news, and found that Peter King thinks the Durant signing was the most underrated of the day one activity.

Durant was a good, solid LB for the Cowboys last year. He isn't the least bit spectacular, but he's solid, which is a good thing IMO. If he can stay on the field you guys will like him.

Derrick Morgan still on his visit per Vaughn McClure who does an excellent job for ESPN on the Falcons blog. Adrian Clayborn expected in later today from the Bucs. Often injured, but can be a pass rusher when healthy.

Rumors of Brees to Bucs for the #1.
Personally, I think it's not terrible for the Bucs. They have pieces to win now. Brees makes them an easy favorite in the South. Their WR talent with Brees would be ridiculous. Who knows how good Winston or Mariota will be, and how quickly?

The upside for the Bucs too is if Brees falls off the cliff, they only have him for 2 years. Downside they're getting an old QB who may not succeed outside of Payton's system.

I wouldn't do it.

Personally I wouldn't worry at all about Brees adjusting to a new system.
I mean he was good in SD before his injury.
The NFL is so unpredictable, if you have a legit chance to compete/win now...you have to strongly consider it. I'm not saying they should do it. But it's definitely intriguing. Who knows where their defense is by the time Winston or Mariota are good?

I agree with your point about go for the win now.

Brees was good in his last 2 years in SD, one of the 10 best QBs in the NFL. Around 7 or 8, great production. But is that at his age worth the number 1 pick in the draft.Maybe Brees and 2 2s would be more like it.

That screams to me that NOLA knows their time is up and thinks Winston could keep the train moving down the tracks. Otherwise, where are they going to find another franchise QB?

If we sign Morgan, I will feel very good about the moves Atlanta has made. Pass Rusher, two LB starters, and OL depth so far... and no one that will bust the budget.

LOL at this "rumor"

1- Brees isn't being traded

2- If the Saints decide to move him it won't be to TB

I agree, Brees I think could move on draft day if the QBs don't go 1-2. Raiders may be a team who thinks they're a QB away from playoff contention.

Eagles going after Murray. Dez whining about it. lol

so 2000-and late here.
The Eagles are signing Matthews, so no Murray.
Dez sent a facetious tweet in response to Malcolm Jenkins; hardly "whining."
Keep fishing though. Find that video yet? lol.
