I hope Dallas gets AP. Want to bet they don't win division?

Careful what you wish for.

AP behind the Cowboys OL would be nuts.

Even if they dont, they're favorites depending how long Hardy is suspended for.

Yes I'll gladly take that bet. Regardless if they get AP or not. The have the only QB in the division that's worth a damn. Even if AP sucks it up (unlikely) they still have a bunch of other playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.

Falcons kept Biermann, very solid move.

Falcons defense so far looks decent. Still issues but that number 8 pick will be key. Projected depth chart

DE - Clayborn

DT - Soliai/Hageman (I imagine heavy rotation will be a factor)

DT - Babs/Jackson

DE - Biermann

SLB - Reed

MLB - Worrilow

WLB - Durant - Schofield and Shembo will get rotated around in there as well

CB - Trufant

CB - Alford

SS - Moore

FS - SOuthward

If the first round pick pans out. And even better if we can get McKinney in the 2nd round as he's a beast.

At the very least they added a lot of depth. I don't expect much of a pass rush, but it's at least a base to build on.

I also am heavily on the Vic Beasley bandwagon. But I will take any of the pass rushers. The Falcons just need players, period.

My attitude as well. Beasley or Fowler is ideal, but Ray and Gregory would be huge improvements. My only "concern" with Beasley is his arms are a hair shorter than Fowler, Ray, or Gregory, not as big of a deal for a DE as an OL, but you'd like someone with a bit more length.

Beasley is so strong that in the very least he should be excellent against the run.

I don't think that you can do any wrong in their position. Even if in the weird circumstance all the pass rushers are gone then they can trade out of the 8th pick since that means that Mariota would still be on the board.

Dallas is easy division favorites right now. With AP it would almost be a lock. They aren't going to pursue him though, unfortunately.
I expect Hardy to be gone for 4 games.

I think they probably draft a running back. Dunbar sucks, McFadden is done,a nd Randle can't stop getting arrested. They should find a good one in the 2nd/3rd round. Signing AP would be dumb, though he fits in with the bad boy culture of the team.

Dez is obviously good. Romo and Witten are probably on the downside of their careers. What WRs other than Dez are playmakers? Beasley and Williams graded out poorly last year. Hardy, if he plays, will help the defense, but they also need drastic improvements on that side.

Eagles are obviously going to be good again.

The Giants will be a real threat next year. They have a sick WR tandem in Randle/OBJ. Andre Williams likely makes a big jump this year as well. I think they probably attack OL in the draft and that is one spot that have to be concerned about.

I think the Skins will take one unless Mariotta somehow drops or Williams drops.

I think the Giants are going to have a top 5 offense next year. If Cruz is even 80% of what he was then watch out.

I know you used the qualifier almost before calling it a lock. But we learned something last year. There's no such thing as a lock in the NFL. Remember thethe's list of playoff locks in the NFC, IIRC it was Saints, Packers, Seahawks, and 49ers. And the 49ers and Seahawks were a virtual lock to be in the conference championship? NFL has no guarantees.

If the 49ers didn't have everyone and their mother injured last year they would have been there in January. So if you want to say injuries are hte great equalizer then I agree with you.

I said that before the season and you said they had enough depth to overcome injuries. Just another time I'm burdened with being oh so right.

With AP the Cowboys would almost be a lock to win the division. I know nothing is ever a lock, which is why I didn't say it.

They're still strong favorites and one of the favorites in the whole NFC IMO. We're going to be able to run the ball, no matter who's running it. Beasley really came on at the end of the year and Williams is still growing (and also had a good post-season).

Hardy is huge for that defense. Huge, huge impact player. He changes everything.

They had the depth to recover from a massive amount of injuries. What happened to them last year was absurd...similar to what is happening to the Thunder this year.

The Eagles have a HUGE question mark at QB and 1 WR right now, and still need 3 new secondary members. Their o-line is also trending down as they get older.

The Giants could bounce back nicely, but still have plenty of holes.

Skins are the Skins, no one's worried about them.

Niners had a ton of injuries, but hardly were a freak, infact Football outsiders said the Giants were more effected by injuries as they had the highest Adjusted Games Lost. Which factors in guys who play but are hurt as well.

And the 49ers won more games against a much more difficult schedule.

No, they wouldn't have. Unless you mean Kaep was injured or something.
