Nobody else was kneeling. Hell, it wasn't even supposed to be a spike... it was coming out of a timeout. That's 100% on Cousins to a point where there is not even a point in trying to defend him. The fade call is the right call bc a sack is nearly impossible and a botched snap almost never happens. You have 6 seconds to score a touchdown, and you're not trying?

No body fired off the line. Look at the RB. Didn't even flinch. Line wasn't in pass blocking mode. The call in the huddle had to have been kneel. Only way to explain everyone else's reaction.

Let me stress, you have 6 seconds to score. Not to score a touchdown. this wasn't the 4th quarter or a team who was trailing, this was a team up by 2 scores. A fieldgoal makes them up by 2 TDs. Let's just say some rough numbers.

6 yards on one play isn't super easy to get, especially if you eliminate the run. Let's say the odds of completing that particular pass are about 30%. Let's say the odds for a sack are about 5%, odds for a pick about 5% and odds for a botched snap are about 1%.

]So is the 30% or so chance of more points worth the 10% or so chance of points?

Zito is an idiot and no one even cares about this issue because we beat the Eagles ass and won the division. (Thanks CC, btw).

With 6 seconds left, The play was a fade to Garcon. Plenty of time to do it. A sack isnt happening. An interception is possible. A bad snap is possible. A brainfart from the QB is possible. If you kick FG with 6 secs left near the goalline, you are a pussy.

Gruden doesnt BS. Cousins screwed up and they moved on. The three possibilites are:

Cousins thought they had TO (still dumb on cousins)

Cousins thought the Eagles were offside (they were). Still dumb of cousins

The idiot center snapped the ball early (did two other times). This is possible and cousins just reacted.

Can we all for a second marvel about how ****ty the Giants are? Seriously. They suck. St. Louis pulled the upset Atlanta needed, but the Giants rolled over and got bitchslapped by the Vikings.

And for the Falcons, when they look back at why they're sitting at home, it's because they're 1-4 in the division. At worst they should be .500. With beating Carolina they should be 4-2. No reason not to get swept by the Sorry ass Bucs. And given how ****ty the Saints were, Losing to them is not good. Then you have the unforgiveable loss after the Bye at home vs the Colts.

That being said though. An 8-8 or 9-7 season is not bad at all. It's not where you want to be (if you aren't in the playoffs might as well get a better pick) but it shows a big improvement, and it gives you room for improvement.

Also lost to Gabbert and the 49ers. You can't possibly put any spin on it. They were 5-0, then 6-1, and missed the playoffs. It was an historically bad choke. If we had hovered around .500 all year, it'd be different. But there is no excuse. It's just about the most Atlanta Falcon thing ever, really.

The second half schedule was tougher than the first half though. THey started out 4 of their first 5 games against the NFC East. Which we all know is a joke. And they had the Texans, and Titans in there as well. THe Falcons 6-1 start had much more to do with their weak schedule. THey should have beaten Indy. Should have been 8-0 vs the NFC East and AFC South. Those divisions are terrible. And you're right, they should have beat the Niners. But I will give them one venefit of the doubt, Late bye week almost certainly hurt their stamina. It's not something that really should have too much of an effect, but I imagine it has to not having more than a day or 2 off for 9 straight weeks. Not counting preseason of course.

Playoffs are shaping up to be very exciting again this season. The AFC is wide open too. New England is a mess with their injuries right now. Denver is probably the most dangerous team because of their defense. However the Chiefs are playing lights out and the Jets are scary as well. Never thought I would say that.
