REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Dirtiest team in the game. Marvin Lewis has zero control over the thugs he gives football jerseys to. Is he a football coach or a parole officer.

This is nothing new with Vontaze Burfict. Coming out of Arizona State, he had first round in the draft talent, but teams had big time character concerns. So much so that he went undrafted. Clearly he has not matured at all. And I don't have to rehash the troubles of Adam Jones.

Mike Tomlin says Antonio Brown has a concussion.

Personally, because I was rooting for the Bengals because of McCarron (me being a Bama fan and him being from my hometown), so I'm kind of ticked off. Just a disgraceful showing. Burfict needs to be suspended for a LONG time.

As a Titan's fan, I will never defend Pacman again. But at least his penalty was a bit controversial, as it could have offsetting penalties if the refs flagged Pitt for Porter being on the field. Not sure what was said, but it didn't look like Pacman did anything other than reach for him.

The real culprit here is Burflict. What a completely disgusting play by him. Hope he gets suspended for at least 2 games for that blatant hit to the head.

I could tell from the third quarter when they couldn't control Burfict that he was going to wind up doing something really stupid that would cost his team. He very nearly was not touched on his interception when he ran into a tunnel. If he intercepts that a little to the right, he scores a safety on himself.

I agree the Pacman penalty should never have been called. I've seen the Steelers "steal" so many games over the years via the zebras that it literally makes me sick. He's a thug, Burfict is even worse, but I challenge each of you to look at Burfict's hit on Brown, and Shazier's hit one Benard. Both were shoulder to chin, at least that's where most of the "impact" took place. Again not defending any Bungle but those hits (not the position of the player being hit, just the hit itself) weren't all that different.

As a fan of A.J. McCarron, I hope he gets a trade. What a disgraceful showing by the Bengals.

See if you can arrange a trade to our Cowboys. We wouldn't need to draft an eventual replacement for Romo that way so we could concentrate on accumulating a larger group of talented players for Jerry to spoil like 4 year olds and Garrett to mismanage.

I think the main difference is that Benard wasn't defenseless. He made the catch and made a football move before getting leveled.

Brown was completely defenseless and Burflict knew the pass was incomplete as well. You can clearly see in the replay that Burflict doesn't lower his shoulder for the hit till after the ball goes by Brown. So he clearly could have let up or at the very least changed his trajectory. But he wanted the big hit.

I don't totally disagree with you, but the announcers repeated said how Bernard "never saw him coming" and if you look at both hits both were shoulder to chin, no helmet to helmet stuff. I also think Burfict's reputation rightly came into it. That said I don't really have any complaints against the Burfict flag, but again if you look at the Shazier hit on Bernard (just the contact itself, not the circumstances surrounding it) it's the same hit and they would NEVER have even thought about flagging Shazier on that one.

I think Pacman is possibly an even worse ahole than Burfict, if that's possible, but that flag on him should definitely NOT have been thrown. Again reputation precedes him. I think Marvin Lewis is a pretty good guy and not a terrible coach either, but you know just knowing how much attention you have to pay to those (no longer juvenile) delinquents has to take away from his concentration level during games and even though those guys are talented, noone is talented enough for that kind of stuff.

Pacman Jones shouldn't have been flagged. Porter should have been flagged for entering the field and the penalties should have offset and the down should have been replayed.
