Better team lost. **** this world. Refs of course only called fouls in advantage of pats. Sorry falcons couldn't beat the refs and the pats.

There was a hold on the final play but this team was toast as soon as Freeman missed the block and Ryan got manhandled. Anyone who has ever watched an Atlanta team could feel it.

I am infinitely glad I'm not a Falcons fan fan right now.

And eff Brady and the Pats. Where are the Giants when you need them?

Falcons are not going away anytime soon. Ryan and Julio are in the prime years and there are some good young players on defense. The Falcons will be heard from again real soon.

My friend (as John McCain would say), you severely underestimate the power of an Atlanta team.

While true, losing like that can haunt a franchise.

The biggest loser in all of this is probably Matt Ryan. Guy played his ass off all year. Literally carried this team to the Super Bowl and you're seeing **** about him on Twitter.

Yeah I was 10 when we got blown out by Denver but I'm sure someone said then we were there to stay. Instead we endured the Vick fiasco, Bobby freaking Petrino, the blown loss against the Niners and now this. Just when we really believed it could be different.

Somewhat true but if you run it twice, you win the game.

Playcalling was pretty bad.

I'm not old enough to remember Game 7 against the Twins but are there any diehards of the Braves and Falcons out there that could rate them against each other? This one has to be the worst.

1996 - Leyritz
1999 - Chipper's MVP Season wasted. And Hawks having a decent team (Mutombo, Smith, Mookie, etc.)
2001 - Getting blown out by the D'Backs after the Game 2 heroics.
2002 - Best Bullpen and pitchign staff in baseball loses to San Fran after 2-1 lead in NLDS. Vick gets hammered by Philly in 2nd round of playoffs.
2003 - Best offense in baseball and Maddux' last season with us and we lose in 5 in NLDS. Georgia Tech has a miracle run in the NCAA tournament and gets clobbered by Uconn in the title game.
2004 - Wasted the miracle comeback season that started with a comeback in Baltimore in NLDS Game 5.
2005 - Wasted the Baby Braves amazing push to get the division against Astros in heartbreaking Game 4 18-Inning game after leading 5-1 heading into the bottom of the 8th.
2006 - Vick and Falcons get pretty much shut out by Philly after blowing out Rams the week before.
2008 - Hawks lose to Celtics in Game 7.

More recently:
2010 - Brooks Conrad. Bobby's last game. Ugh. Could have gone up 2-1 in the series.
2011 - Epic September choke by Los Bravos.
2012 - We were privileged with being in the first ever Wild Card game and Chipper chokes and we lose with the Infield Fly call.
2013 - Amazing offense and pitching division winners get pretty much shut down by LA. Falcons - 49ers NFC Championship Game. Up 21-0 I think it migth have been?
2015 - Atlanta Hawks have a season best winning streak in regular season. #1 seed, get destroyed by Cleveland Cavaliers.
2017 - Falcons. 28-3 lead in the 3rd Quarters. Ugh.

I'm sure I'm missing more things.

You can add Georgia in the mix for me and the 2012 Bama game and that abortion of an ending to the Tennessee game this year.

Next heartbreak is just around the corner. I'm sure Chubb tears his knee up in the spring game. Sports man.

Yep... why give yourself a chance at a sack or an INT when a field goal ices it?

That's what sucks. This game was over, all they had to do was run the ball but they kept calling pass plays while snapping it with 14-18 seconds left on the play clock. It's like they completely forgot how to play and coach in the 4th quarter.

I feel awful for Falcons fans, just brutal, absolutely brutal.

There was one offensive holding call all game, it was the one to drive the Falcons out of Field Goal range for the win. There was a probably botched offsides on the game typing 2 pointer and missed OPI on the illegal pick.Or the dozens of other illegal picks, or offensive hodls the Pats got away with. I would admit defeat if the Falcons lost fairly, this ****ing sucks. **** this ****.

I'm with you man. We are never going to hear the end of it either. And for it to come against these blow jobs....

I should have just watched the damn Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. I scared my dog under the bed. This loss made me wish I had no interest in sports. One of my Facebook friends was just excited for 24 to come on. Oh to be him.

Losses sting. I'm a Cowboys fan, so I know a little something about that. Heh. This will hurt for a little while. But Falcons fans, I'm telling you, that team of yours has something going. Got some good young players and an owner who truly cares about the team. Not to mention a shiny new stadium. The future looks real good for the Atlanta Falcons. Early guess, I think them and I dare say, the Cowboys have to be the early favorites in the NFC next season.

No game 7 1991 doesn't compare, there was no collapse. That was hard fought just came up short. The only thing this compares to is Leyritz in 1996 and 2005 in Houston. And for the record, I am a Cowboys fan on the football side but I was pulling for the Falcons tonight. The Pats are cheaters and get by with it!!!
