Yes, if they held on a running play, it might have been called.
Because we all know the refs call the Patriots for every hold they do...oh wait.

Hell, they didn't call the Falcons for every hold they do.
But they were actually willing to make the calls against the Falcons. They ignored almost everything the Pats did in the second half, especially in critical situations. If that second half is called halfway evenly then the Falcons win by 21. The Patriots could have knifed a Falcon, set him on fire, and dragged the burning corpse around the field and you'd see the Falcons get called for unsportsmanlike conduct for littering the field with smoldering body parts.
if the NFL worked that way the Saints would have won the Superb Owl in 2006.
LOL. No point arguing this nonsense homer talk. Best of luck next year.
I can't get there as far as "rigging outcomes". Just too many people to keep a lid on that. It would relegate the NFL to WWF soap opera status. THAT would cost them much more than the wrong team winning the SB.
We lost it outright. No question about it. Shananigan not running the ball pretty much locked it down for the Pats and their army of gold chain wearing jack offs.
Tough feeling to describe today. Unreal play by my boys for 3 quarters. Just bitch slapping them up and down the field. We were clearly the better team by my eyes but that might be the homer in me. We have some REAL pieces. Ones that might be better next year as this is a team of youngsters. The D being on the field for 93 plays was just a back breaker. Run the ball twice and not lose 23 yards and we are home free most likely.
Still just in disbelief, but then I snap out of it and realize I'm a Falcons fan ...this is par for the course for us.
It wasn't totally an illegal formation (though he was over the center even if he wasn't head up), but it was a leaping penalty anyway as he came from the second level and leaped which is illegal. . So pick your poison
You don't seem to know the rules.

Oh I don't?
Running forward and leaping in an obvious attempt to block a field goal or Try Kick and landing on players, unless the leaping player was originally lined up on the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped.
Let's check
Ran forward - Check
Leaping in an obvious attempt to block a kick - Check
Landing on a player - Check. Notice is right leg landing on the guard's right shoulder
Gilesfan is an annoying twat who pretends to know so much about football but really doesn't - check.
