REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Good for both sides imo. Cooks was whining because he didn't get the ball enough. Really ****ty situation since we place more value on character when drafting than actual talent. Michael Thomas is what makes this trade viable fornthe Saints. He is redonkulous. Plus Brees makes any receiver twice as good. Willie Smead went from getting but from the Browns to 1k receiving with the Saints.

One of my favorite players, DeMarcus Ware, just announced his retirement. Great player and an even better guy. Glad he got a Super Bowl ring. Just wish it was with the Cowboys.

The Falcon's were smart to sign him to only a one year deal. He hasn't been the same since injuring his back. As a Chiefs fan I liked Poe but he just hasn't been the same. I hope for him and the Falcon's that his back was simply not fully healthy and he bounces back.

I think Quinn wants him to slim down 15 - 20 lbs, and play less snaps overall.

Should be able to get more out of him that way I'd think.

Just read on the Falcoholic where Atlanta is in a pretty jam up position to trade down for more picks. At the end of RD 1, with the team option and jumping ahead of the break in day 1\2 it could be worth moving back because we don't have GLARING needs.

Could use a DL\DE, TE, FS, OG.

We blew the Super Bowl with a 28-3 lead. I would say there's plenty that can be improved. Maybe nothing overly glaring but we need impact.

Hell I think you will see plenty of improvement from the rookies year 1 to year 2. That's a LOT of impact right there.

Hooper, Poole, Gabriel, Jones, Neal, Jarrett etc.. could all improve with no real stretch of the imagination.

Chris Chester retiring. Falcons depth chart is looking a bit worrisome in some areas.

While the defense if healthy should be improved from last year with the addition of Poe and no major subtractions (though Babs) offense we've only lost 1 starter, but the depth took some blows. Just don't know who'll fill in for Chester who did a great job on the right side of the line. Thornton is slotted to replace him, but he's had major injury concerns.

The Truf will be sticking around for a bit. If the Falcons can upgrade their Strong Safety they could have the best secondary in the NFL.
