REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I really can't wait until the last few weeks of the season when the Niners should have Crabtree and Manningham back to go along with Davis, Boldin and Patton.

Lets not go overboard. 49ers woudl run all over them. Falcons just can't run the ball.

We'll see. SJax had 77 yards on 11 carries (granted, most of it on a 50-yard run). The Falcons' O-Line is a major concern, but SJax has way more in the tank than Turner did last year.

Gotta give credit to the Saints' D today too. They really up their game when Atlanta comes to town.

Gotta say... The Lions offense looked damn good.

34 points while having 2 or 3 touchdowns overturned, and muffing up some red zone opportunities. I was impressed.

Tonight though, I get to watch the best offense of alltime play Philly. That will be fun

Its like I said. Reggie Bush is going to have a monster year because of the way teams plan for Megatron. Then once they focus more attention on Bush, Megatron will get huge chunks. Lions are going to the playoffs.

BTW, the Redskins don't have the best offense of all time...its just RG3 is the greatest QB ever.

Yeah, Bush is going to be a major asset.

Megatron had a touchdown taken from him (on the stupid hypocrital rule again), and had another TD catch where basically his pinky toe was out of bounds. He will get his with or without Bush. Its just nice to finally have an explosive drop down option (it used to be Brandon Pettigrew)

Loved watching the Giants/Cowboys ****show. Both teams looked terrible. Romo was awful and they scored bc the Giants gifted them the ball 6 times. And the Giants have huge holes at RB, OL, and the secondary to go along with their pass rush that isn't quite the same as it's been.

It's was some terrible football week 1. I wonder if taking away practices contributed to just overall bad football.

Will the league punish Suh again? Probably the dirtiest player in football, which is saying much with how some of the offensive lineman play.

Has the league commented on how they gave the 49ers a free down on the Clay Matthews penalty?

Coughlin mentioned that during the past week. I think it to do with a lot of injuries. Very few teams have their first teams fully in tact and in football in only takes one weak link to destroy a play.

I disagree that Romo looked awful. I think he gutted out a solid performance.

...for what??

Are you that much of a pussy that you want a punishment for a low block - which many question if it was even a penalty to begin with?

Well the officials admitted they made the wrong call. But, Staley should probably have not even been flagged on that play. He just stood Mattthews up. At absolute worst they both should have been flagged because Matthews gave him like 2-3 punches to the face. Matthews is a dirty player.

Clay isn't a dirty player that I know of, but that was a bad hit. As was the late hit on Rodgers by Brooks.

Yes any late hit is dirty IMO. There is no need to smack the QB late but what Matthews did crossed even the dirty line. He commented all week he was going to do it and then basically attacked him like a wild animal. He could have and probablyi should have been ejected for that.

No way he should have been ejected. If Clay wouldn't have spoken earlier in the week, no one would have even talked about the hit. It was a late hit and he was penalized....no need for ejection. That hit's a lot cleaner than diving at a players knee that isn't even going to make a play on the ball.

But he did speak about it so you can't take that out of the equation. There was intent there whether or not you want to admit it or not.
