REAL FOOTBALL Thread

RG3 commented that he wanted to take snaps in preseason. (big shock, player wants to play). Shanahan didn't play RG3 the entire preseason as a precaution (like he did with Cousins after COusins injured his foot). Suddenly, bc RG3 wants to play there is a conflict between the two, even though nothing was every said by either party, just reporters taking RG3 wanting to play as a shot at Shanahan.

"Griffin, who normally only talks to reporters on Mondays, stopped by the podium before Mike Shanahan’s press conference to say “there is no conflict” about the way his comeback is being handled, according to Mark Maske of the Washington Post."

"Griffin said the statement he made Monday questioning Shanahan's plan for him has been "twisted and turned" into a controversy."

And yet, as Griffin said today, “Coach is coach. I’m the player. Coach has a plan and I’m abiding by that plan. I’m doing everything the coaches are asking me to do. I trust those guys. They want me to have a long career and that’s what part of this plan is about.”

League fined Suh 100k. Very happy about that. I'm thinking it's time to suspend him again if he does it again.

Shaun O"Hare made great points about playing Suh.

I didn't know you were such a pussy. "OH NOES, A PLAYER LOW BLOCKED ANOTHER PLAYER!!! HE SHOULD BE SUSPENDED"

Don't worry GF, not every player's knee is as fragile as RG3. They are big boys, they can handle it (most of them)

Your liberal, whiny, tiny foil, cops are evil ass is calling someone else a pussy? That's funny, kid. What are you 22 years old?

LOL, liberal?

haha. You are hilarious.

Hopefully you'll get your way and we can get flag football real soon. Maybe RG3 will be able to hold up then... maybe

Can't believe your'e defending McDonkeyKong Suh's dirty play. Well I kinda can because you're an oblivious homer, but that play was super dirty and could have ended someone's career. What he did there is the baseball equivalent of intentionally throwing at someone's head.

I simply disagree. He low blocked a player.

Suh has had his fair share of dirty plays... that wasn't one of them. The 15 yeard flag was enough, the 100K fine is dumb as hell

That is not a lot block. That is deliberately trying to hurt a player.

I dunno, because he saw an opportunity to hit a player and wanted to do so?

Do you really think he intentionally was trying to do an illegal play where we were about to score an easy touchdown?

I wouldn't begin to assume that I know what he was thinking. Maybe he was trying to hurt Sullivan or maybe he wasn't. What I do know is that Suh has a history of doing "questionable" things on the football field. He doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. What he did on that play is dangerous and unnecessary. The Olineman had a negative chance of getting to the ball.

Because I know you guys all love how much I jock Kaep:

Kaepernick has missed (over- or underthrown) on 12 percent of his passes since the start of 2012, which is best in this group and the entire league. [The group being the 4 young QB's everyone compares]

I hear you. And because of that history, the league went after him. Any other player gets the flag and that is it. Suh gets $100K and whiners like GF screaming for his banishment.

But, I'm pissed at him because he was trying to make an unnecessary play that literally cost us 7 points (we turned the ball over on the next play). I am sure Suh wasn't intentionally trying to draw a flagrant foul. He probably saw someone that he could hit, and misjudged how far away he was (he says he was going for his waist).

A $100K fine is absurd.

You think he is so desperate to do a dirty play that he would give away 7 points? Seriously?

Yes. He probably thought he could not get caught. And I'm sure in his mind taking someone out of the game vs potential loss of 7 points, is a gain for him. Not to mention the fact that a division rival would lose a starting player.

Well we just disagree then. That's simply not that uncommon of a block. He got his flag. Move on

That block rarely happens in the NFL unless it's a dirty play.

Show me how a block low and from behind happens all of the time, or enough to be considered common.

Which is a huge difference. Also you're allowed to chop block in the tackle box. And Williams was in the play, and he should have known that guy was there.

Actually aside from hitting the guy in the knee, they have nothing in common (Suh hit and rolled as well)
