REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Turns out Aaron Hernandez had stage 3 (out of 4) CTE. Makes you wonder.

Remember Goodell, champion of player safety, did everything and anything possible to suppress studies about CTE and prevent knowledge of the safety risks from getting out to the public. How can someone who did that be allowed to run the league. How can this somebitch suspend people for "safety issued" when he has never once been held accountable for his role in suppressing the brain damage caused by the game. He should be in prison for this not being paid 20 million a year. He is just as bad as Darren Sharper who literally raped a bunch of women.

Sure it does. How much of his actions were really him or what he turned into after his brain went to crap.

The world is better off without him in it.
Wasn't he getting into trouble at Florida as well? Choosing to hang with gang bangers was his choice and not because he got hit in the head.

I'm not saying he was a good person. But CTE can cause good people to do bad things. We will never know how much of his actions were or were not a result of this disease which is sad.

Kyle Shanahan is a real good playcaller. Carlos Hyde is going to be schemed into having a great year.

He's incredible. Last year's offense was so much fun to watch in Atlanta. Shanny knows how to leverage his WR1 and RB1 like no other coach I have ever seen.

Garcon has looked good. Ultimately the season has gone about as well as you could have hoped for a 49ers fan. For starters, the team is 0-3. Need that top pick but just as important you get het sense the organization is run well at this time. Made a nice deal in the draft this year and some solid FA acquisition. You have to have the belief that the FO/coaching knows what they are doing or else it doesn't matter what kind of talent you have around.

He was part of a gang in high school. He shot someone in the face in college. The man was a monster, CTE or not.

Hernandez probably has been playing football since he was a child. They say playing before the age of 12 is incredibly bad and can cause CTE very young. not saying that correlation equals causation. But there's a very real chance the 2 worked together resplendently.

It's gotta be a blessing and kind of pain to be the Falcons D. With how quick we can score, they are going to have to be really conditioned in the fourth quarter. We've looked tired late in all three games.

They looked tired in the last quarter and a half of the Super Bowl too....

It's also worth pointing out that his committed murder was planned out and performed execution style, iirc. That's not typical of CTE violence. He didn't snap and kill someone. I think he was just a crazy dude raised in a crazy environment.

Can't believe the league absolutely screwed the Lions over. Initial call was a TD. They had no clear evidence to overturn that call. Tate's knee was down before he caught the ball and then he lifted it up before the catc and was not on the ground as he broke the plane. Just an all around bad decision from the worst sports organization in the world.

I think there was clear evidence correct? If there wasn't, it wouldn't have been overturned. No one has been harping on that it was incorrectly overturned that I've seen.

Hey, that call goes against the falcons with the same evidence 999\1000 times because Falcons. So, I'll take it. Two odd turnovers were the culprit to that game being within two scores.
