REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Is there any way Carson Wentz can like Harlem Globetrotter his way onto the field in the SUperbowl? I don't think I can handle another Pats Superbowl win, and it would be funny to see what happens if the Eagles win a Superbowl. I think the city could wind up being leveled.

You do make it tempting.

Reportedly 71 million in guaranteed money. Alex Smith is an ok QB, but not sure he's any better than Cousins at a similar price tag. But may be the relationship with Cousins had gotten past the point of repair. I could see Cousins landing in the Denver.

lol washington trades a 3rd and a good player in Fuller for Smith, gives Smith 23.5 per and 71 guaranteed, and let's a better QB walk. dan snyder is clueless.

We don't know what Smith will do in Washington, we don't know what of his success is his and what is Andy Reid, and we don't know what cousins is the real cousins. Is it the one who was the 3rd best QB in the NFL in 2016 or the one who was below average last year. I think Washington is probably hedging their bets on the latter and assuming 2016 was a Nick Foles type fluke season, they could very well be wrong, but to say one is for sure better than the other is silly. You're arguing over 3rd tier QBs. Washington was stupid to make this trade if Cousins could be had for similar money, but we don't know everything.

Superbowl what if.

What if Nick Foles wins the Superbowl for the Eagles, puts in an MVP performance akin to what Ryan did last year but without the bad second half playcalling.

What do you do if you're the Eagles? Foles won the most important games, he lead you to your first Super Bowl, he'll for sure ride that to a payday and not want to be a backup again.

So again, what if. What if you win the whole damned thing, Foles is amazing, and Cleveland comes to you and offers you the number 1 pick in the draft, the number 1 next year and a few other picks for Wentz. What do you do? Realize with the first pick in the draft you can draft another Fletcher Cox level defensive lineman in Chubb, you could fortify your guard position with QUenton Nelson or get an OT to replace the oft injured Peters in Orlando Brown. Heck from the one spot you can probably trade back a few picks and get a few more picks and still get some of those guys or a stud safety like James, or go draft a bell ringer Barkley.

I would think the Fecals would then turn around and trade him to one of the QB starved teams in the NFL for a buttload of high draft picks, IF they're convinced Wentz will be ready to come back by the beginning of the 2018 season. That's just me though. I definitely DON'T see them trading Wentz though I would like it if they did

Well the question is

Foles+2 number 1s including the first overall pick in this draft. vs. Wentz and some borderline picks. What's the better football choice?

I definitely see your point, but there are some other questions to ask as well.

1.) Is Wentz's knee for sure going to be 100%?

2.) Is Cleveland really dumb enough to give up the first and fourth overall picks for a QB coming off major knee surgery?

3.) Is Foles really capable of playing as well as he has lately for Philly, seeing as how he has never come close to being this good before?

4.) If you don't believe Foles can be this good long term, wouldn't you have to take a QB with one of those high picks and HOPE the guy you pick can one day be as good as Wentz is right now, knee notwithstanding?

5.) If you're Philly should you allow yourself to forget that Wentz is the best QB you've had since......well even I'm not old enough to remember them having a better one.

If it's me, I'm gonna try to capitalize on Foles "lightning in a bottle" greatness and take the best pick I can get for him, which should be a decent one considering how QB starved the NFL is. Just my strategy though.
