REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Going forward? Like after he was hurt?? Idk where this talk is to show your point...but I have watched all his games and I would have to disagree to the fullest extent.

What can you show me to say otherwise??

Wilson was a turrible pick. Hes more of an athlete than rb imo. He wont ne long for the giants. If brown van stop breaking his leg jell be the starter. going foward. He is mich better than wilson.

Reese has had a bunch of bad draft picks and fa signings. Not to mention a few resignins and theyre the reason the giants are doing poorly. He lived off ernies picks and reeses should be on his way out. This coming from a guy that used to defend him. Changes need to be bad imo.

Zito is back on Rivers penis!

Those receivers look pretty good for SD. Guys were pretty open yesterday. Haven't realliy watched them otherwise this year.

Only receiver on that team with any potential is Allen. And he's a 3rd round pick rookie, probably not too familiar with the system certainly doesn't have much of a rapport with Rivers since he was 3rd or 4th on their depth chart to start the season

he has Eddie Royal a guy who had a pretty good rookie year and not much else. And Vincent Brown who already has a career high in receptions in a season.

Rivers has trash for receivers. One decent potential guy, a guy who's at best a solid 2, and a no body.

You can't ignore Woodhead either. That guy is shifty and provides a great safety blanket to allow the Chargers to look downfield.

Woodhead is a wide receiver? Here I was thinking he was a running back. Rivers isn't devoid of weapons like Brady but of the top guys, he is second in line with the worst weapons.

If you are talking about weapons in the passing game then Woodhead needs to be included. They guy is 11th in the league in receptions and is the leading receiving running back. Don't be stupid.

So?

Who would you take, Gates, Woodhead, Royal and Allen or Thomas, Moreno (who's a better receiving RB), Thomas, and Welker.

Seriously don't be obtuse. Rivers doesn't have amazing weapons, Gates is the only real weapon he has. Woodhead is a dump off option. is he a good dumpoff option? Yes but I'm pretty sure Rivers would trade Woodhead for an upgrade over Eddie Royal.

Still butthurt that I crushed your teams don't take RBs in the first argument? It's ok, everyone on here has been proven wrong by me, bit of a right of passage to the NFL thread.

Derp!

There goes zito once again with the strawman and obnoxious exclamation points. Again, I never said anything about QBs. However, they are far more important than RBs and more worth the risk. I remember thinking Richardson was a huge reach. He doesn't have the size speed or strength that Peterson does. You just keep proving my point.

Hmm you thought Richardson is a reach. Let's consult the experts.

NFL.com

"Richardson is as compact and coiled an athlete as the position has seen since Adrian Peterson. Richardson is explosive, powerful and balanced. He is a heady and instinctual player who is patient enough to wait for blocks and quick enough to cut backfield to daylight. Richardson has a strong core that he uses to break arm tackles and get physical leverage under blitzers in pass protection. He is a true three-down back who can be effective on screens."

And

"Richardson is a talented back who should garner a top-five pick in this year's draft, regardless of the idea that the shelf life of running backs doesn't warrant the risk of a top pick. Richardson is durable enough to handle a season full of carries, and with the new CBA rules putting a ceiling on rookie salaries, it will be tough for teams to pass on such a talented, polished back."

cbssports ranked him 4th overall prospect and had this to say

"Possesses an almost unheard combination of size, strength and speed. Boasts a power clean of 365 pounds, a 600 pound squat and a bench press of 475 pounds"

From ESPNNew York (ranked him 4th)

Many believe Richardson is the best running-back prospect since Adrian Peterson (2007). He's a complete package of power and speed. One NFC scout told me, "He's got vision, instincts and he's tough ... Great work ethic. And he can pass block, too."

From sportingnews (ranked him 5th)

"His ability to change directions remarkably fast, explode through the hole and consistently make big plays makes him an extremely dangerous cutback runner. He attacks the hole, has an explosive burst through it and has uncommon strength and power on contact. He has consistently shown the ability to keep his feet against hard hits and runs through grab tackles to gain yards after contact. "

nfldraftscout.com ranked him 4th

I'll stop it with this last one cause now I'm only gonna get to more obscure sites and I don't care but where was Richardson on Kiper's board? 3rd.

So pretty much everyone who's anyone had him as a top 5 draft prospect, and it was a huge reach to take him at 3? Are you really gonna pull that argument out? I hope so cause I got my popcorn.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHA

Thompkins, Edleman and 2 no name TE's .....his RB's have been hurt all year...what are you talking about? Other than being a defensive homer, of course.

Peyton has better weapons sure but the gap isnt that big.

WTF are you serious?

You have to be trolling.

I cannot believe you'd be that dumb.

Peyton has what must be the greatest set of weapons in the NFL, Thomas, Thomas, Welker, Decker, and Moreno may be the best group period, but certainly the best group of guys playing. Brady has Kendell Thompkins, Michael Hoomanawanui, Edelman, Dobson, and Ridley/Blount

Like that's a massive chasm of talent. That's like the difference between the Braves lineup and the Marlins lineup.

How's he done in the NFL? Do you think he's been worth a top-5 pick thus far in his career?
He was playing behind an NFL offensive line in college, and got banged around a TON there. He was, and never will be, worth the #3 overall pick, and I felt it was a reach (as in I (I'm not Mel Kiper, I'm Yeezus) and so far, I've been pretty damn right. Huh.

Only in zito world did you "crush my argument." You made my argument for me - that taking RBs in the 1st round is a bad idea. And for that, I thank you.

1300 yards from Scrimmage and 12 TDs as a rookie on the Browns, which put him ahead of guys in yards like Reggie Bush, LaSean McCoy and his 12 TDs tied him with Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin.

not he wasn't amazing. But he was pretty solid for a guy facing 8 in the box as a rookie.

And I didn't really prove your argument because as we turn the page Bob Seger style, you said "Notice how few RBs have been drafted early the last few years? You missing that trend buddy?" Not "that taking RBs in the 1st round is a bad idea" and then more specifically "Someone as good as him or better will be found in this years draft in the 3rd-7th round" when I almost categorically proved that wrong (most starting RBs in the NFL are 1st and second round picks) you tweaked the argument. It's a good tactic on the uninitiated, but it's parlor tricks for pro-trolls like me and Brule.
