REAL FOOTBALL Thread

ATL can beat GB, assuming no ARod, can certainly beat Buff and Washington....I'd assume they get another win or 2. They will get the 2nd or 3rd pick, but if they get the 3rd, they could lose out on JC.

But they're in Green Bay and Buffalo in December. Not climates that are kind to passing offenses against 2 teams that can run the ball.

Obviously, but GB with no ARod and Buff in general are horrid teams. You'll be underdogs but I still wouldn't be shocked if you won, one of them.

They need to fix their OL which is a disaster, you can find pass rushers in FA and later in the draft.

I think you have it backwards. We haven't found DL help in any form, anywhere in the draft. Gotta get that premier guy if they can. No DE is gonna hit the market that won't command a giant contract. Quite a few OL coming to the market though. Should be able to sign at least one. New Ryan deal should move money around. We need Clowney.

He asked the Baylor coaches and they complied....he asked the Skins and they did not.

There aren't many people that get as many rumors wrong as you do. The report never said that RG3 asked the Baylor coaches to not put the tape up and stated that he did ask with the Redskins; something Shanahan denies.

"At Baylor (University), they didn’t put RGIII’s bad plays up on the board in the meeting rooms. Sources familiar with the situation say he has asked the Redskins to do the same. They have refused to up to this point.”

Its bad enough that you buy into the media sensationalism, but you can't even get the reports right.

I would be real hesitant to draft Clowney. He's essentially a 3rd down pass rush specialist

Right, i wasnt sure of the Falcons cap situation though so if they could sign a FA LT they could go pass rusher i suppose.

LOL, man are you reaching.....so you think Baylor just did that on their own? hahahahahahahah

Oh man, keep on wearing those RG3 shades, bruh.

Falcons aren't in good cap situation. Right now for 2014 they have projected about 8M in cap space tied into 51 players so probably about what they'd have to use to pay for their draft players. But the Falcons have plenty of ways to save money. First off if Tony retires that would about double their cap space. They could potentially save money restructuring Roddy's deal depending on how much Roddy wants of course, they can save 2M cutting Jackson, they can save 5M cutting Asaunte. So the Falcons can free up tons of money but they lose starters.

Personally my money is on Roddy maybe being restructured. I think Asaunte is gone (Falcons used their 1 and 2 on CBs) Tony I'm sure is retiring.

I think Roddy gets extended pretty soon and a reasonable rate.

They will make room. The Saints and Panthers werer over this year, but found a way to get everyone in. Really wish they would cut Baker. Saw where CMS said today he wouldn't be moving to the RT spot. UGH, 41 mill!

I don't think he can be cut til after next year without it being a cap hit.

If we got Matthews I'd be fine with baker at LT since Matthews is on the smaller side which you usually want.

I don't think Matthews is worth taking in the top 10, and I dang sure aren't taking a RT there. Holmes has gotten better at LT of late.

NFL Network's Mike Silver reports Seahawks RCB Brandon Browner is facing an eight-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Browner was suspended four games last season for violating the PED policy. As a second-time offender, he'll get eight games. That leaves him one strike away from a one-year ban. Silver also says this will end Browner's tenure with the Seahawks. He's a free agent after the season, and the team is reportedly "done with him." For what it's worth, Browner tweeted that he's not facing a suspension: "I'm not facing suspension for PEDs, it's sad that the NFL is reporting this." We should have some clarity on the matter soon. Browner was already expected to be sidelined for another couple of weeks with a severe groin strain.

From rotoworld......

Jeez.

Appearing on Monday Night Countdown, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Seahawks CB Brandon Browner has been suspended one year for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
