REAL FOOTBALL Thread

They drafted Ball that had a very good ypc last year and really came on toward the end. I wouldn't bank on a Knowshon return. Most backs flourish in a PM offense, so they probably would take the plug n play course of action even if they didn't have Ball.

It wouldn't shock me if they made a tiny run at Donald Brown if he isn't brought back by Indy though. Just give them two backs to pound it with when they get in those SD\SEA games...

Yeah, looks like they'll roll with Ball who started to run really well late in the year.

Wouldnt mind taking a flier on MJD.

Ball is a better pure runner but doesnt have the hands/blocking of Moreno.

I'd like to keep Moreno though, i can understand if they dont.

lol he can still play but his snaps need to be limited.

I wonder if the foot injury bothered him too much.

That and father time are what his issues are. Don't get me wrong I loved Champ when he was in his prime. Very likable guy too.

I dont think he's done done, but father time is certainly getting to him.

Hate to see him go but fully understand why.

He would have to be forced to play FS im sure ala Charles Woodson. That said, he could do it I am sure if his body let him.

I don’t know if they can pull it off. But #Lions are showing a TON of interest in Sammy Watkins. They draft No. 10… & have Megatron. #scary

That would nasty but they should just stay at 10 and get Evans.

Evans and Megatron would be filthy.

They would be a great trade partner with the Birds.

They don't need more weapons though. Their wide receiving core isn't great, but they have far more pressing needs than another wide out.

Like what?

They've had a bunch of complimentary WR's next to CJ the last few years, nothing.

Actually their 2 options have been fine. Burleson is solid (though has been hurt) and they have Pettigrew.

You don't need a dominant 2, generally 2s are 700-800 yard receivers.

Burleson isnt that great, and Pettigrew is meh.

Not saying they need to trade up for Watkins, would cost too much imo but if Evans is there, that would be who i'd pick for them.

Not being that great is what most 2s are. Most teams don't have Roddy or Decker as their 2s.

Lions are chasing the dragon and will get bit. They'll have sick weapons, but they'll still have Stafford at QB and if he doesn't improve having 2 great WRs doesn't matter that much, and their defense will still be pretty bad.

I hate to be the one but you know you can't show me any time in the past 10 years or so where the Lions have any proclivity whatsoever to take a WR in the 1st round. You guys are just dreaming!!! :winking0016:
