REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Even if true thats a nothing. Coaches try to get players to play through injuries all the time. The NFL even promoted who helped to try and cover up CTE to commissioner. If AB just sat on the bench and waited to talk things out when not in the heat of battle they probably work things out. His tempter tantrum just made it all worse. Doesnt sound like AB would be playing again this year even he was on good terms with the team so its all a moot point.

If Goodell can sacrifice a nobody coach to get people off his back he will. This isn't like Andy Reid or Bill Belichick.

AB was told he was cut and freaked out if you believe his story. Not the best reaction of course. But far from the worst as well.

If (and given it's Brown, it's a massive one) this is true, Ariens needs to be fired.

Jf Brown has those texts Arians is done. The NFL will have to fire him as sacrifice to the NFLPA.

Buccaneers waived WR Antonio Brown.
Brown and his agent requested that the remaining $2 million in incentives in his contract for this year be guaranteed, per Bucs GM Jason Licht, but the team declined after it made two doctors’ appointments in New York — where Brown was staying after he quit in the third quarter — so they could place AB on injured reserve and pay him for the remainder of the year only to find out he missed both appointments. The 33-year-old veteran, who has likely played his last down of professional football forever, will inevitably go unclaimed on waivers and enter the offseason as a free agent with the 21st most catches in NFL history.

He missed 2 doctor visits this week that could have corroborated his story and potentially guaranteed him the remainder of his contract.

He also allegedly was breaking COVID protocol and sneaking women into the hotel.

He has absolutely zero credibility. I do feel sorry for him because he likely does have CTE. He wasn't remotely this crazy in Pitt.

Oh I don't think Brown is anything credible or decent, I do think CTE is a problem as you said his erratic behavior started late in his career.

That being said, if he has the texts things would get interesting. I don't think he has the texts mind you. I think he's probably making it all up because that seems like the kind of person he is.

Any attorney would tell you that they'd advise Brown not to go to team controlled doctors just like they'd tell you not to go to doctors hired by insurance companies if you're in an accident.

This isn't over. They lawyers are involved now.

Feel good about Niners beating rams but it would be nice if the falcons can do their work for them!

Glad to see Nagy and Pace gone from Chicago, but seeing that they are requesting an interview with Leslie Frazier quickly dampens my optimism.

Ugly win but I'll take it.

As long as Bosa is healthy I think niners can easily beat GB. Played them well early in the year and I think they can be demoralized if the running game gets going early.

Green Bay is a bit of a paper tiger. If you can **** up Rodgers you can beat them. Green Bay's defense was rated 22nd in DVOA and their special teams is 32nd. SO hit them hard and shut down their top notch passing offense and they don't have much.

Tampa is the top team in the NFC overall.

I semi-gave up on NFL when the concussion stuff that was covered up came out. Just didn't feel right actively supporting a product where dudes are literally putting their lives on the line and hen all the brain trauma and suicides.

Then 28-3 happened and that sealed it for me being a Falcons fan and just watching football in general.

I follow it from time to time around playoff time. I've been rooting for Buffalo because they were synonymous with the Braves in the 90's (even though we actually won one and they didn't). Loved seeing them slaughter the Patriots.

As for NFC, when I did still watch the NFL a bunch, I liked watching Rodgers. Closest we've had to any QB running a no-huddle offense like Peyton who I loved watching. Maholmes might be close. My cousins are big 49ers fans and I see them once a year in the Bay Area. So right now I don't care who wins in Green Bay, I will want them to beat Tampa in the NFC title game.

Hoping Bills win it all, that would make the league cry.
