Dude Lamar is so overrated it isn’t even funny

With how people hate on him, he's underrated. It's like the Bryce Harper before. You get overrated by the media, then everyone turns on him. THen you slowly become underrated.

Lamar is a top 10 QB who's treated like he's an ass passer.

It's funny how people are praising Ridder's performance and saying it's his best game as a pro. It was and he still wasn't amazing. The Falcons still only scored 21 points and Ridder only threw for one TD in spite of throwing it 37 times.

The Texans defense is pretty banged up and was selling out against the run. In spite of that the longest pass on the day for Ridder was 33 yards.

Basically, the Falcons gave Ridder a ton of short, high percentage throws, mixed in the occasional intermediate, and almost never asked him to throw deep. They know that down field Ridder could try to hit the ground and miss.

The Falcons were trying hard to mask Ridder's weaknesses (processing, accuracy, decision making) and playing up his strengths. Which is why he had a bunch of completions and the Falcons still punted a lot.

Is it Ridder’s fault that Bijan and Smith fumbled?

Because that’s why they only scored 21 points.

I’ll edit this comment from you to clarify your intent “Ridder only threw for one touchdown and ran for one touchdown”.

Ridder is unremarkable and I will not miss him the second he’s benched, but credit where credit is due. He played great today.

Falcons finding a way to win with Ridder is going to be key. I don't think it's bad that he's not making big throws if it's not part of his game. I wish we had a better QB but I'd rather we learn to cook with the ingredients we have than not.

Agreed. We're gonna have to find a way to win using the run game and short passes. There's no reason to throw deep often with Ridder.

My annoyance is the Falcons betting on Ridder when he doesn't fit their run heavy, play action offense. But I guess it's a sunk cost now.

This all day long

Can you imagine trading everything Carolina did for Bryce, while Houston chilled and got Stroud who looks just so much more of an NFL QB.

He absolutely played as well as he is capable. He was good. He wasn't amazing. He wasn't out there throwing the ball all over the field and making tons of huge plays. He managed the game, made a ton of high percentage throws that was obviously the game plan, and didn't make any game breaking mistakes.

Ridder isnt as bad as he was in London. But he's not as good as his line today seems. He's an extremely limited passer. That's what worries me. We can't run a full playbook with Ridder with how bad he is making reads and how inaccurate he is down the field.

It annoys me that we'll probably win too many games to get a top QB in the draft.

That trade looks like it's gonna end up being Caleb Williams, Jalen Carter, DJ Moore plus two other 2nd round picks for the shortest QB of all time

I agree with this. Falcons seemed destined to be 8-9 which… ugh

If that winds up happening, it will be the worst trade in the history of the NFL. Especially as Jalen Carter is already dominating in the NFL.

Haha I didn't know there was a cult?

Dude looks like a stud though... a notch below Bosa/Parsons though

Interestingly, when the lions decided to trade Stafford, they had an offer from the panthers for Bridgewater and #8 overall... the consensus was that we'd have taken Parson if Sewell wasn't there... so that would have left a draft haul of Sewell and Parsons.

Instead the lions took the multiple future firsts from the Rams, plus Goff. A lot of commentators attribute our current success was jumpstarted from all that draft capital.

But in reality, we haven't realized any benefits from that draft capital. The first 1st was used to trade up for Jameson Williams, who has done nothing and looks like a bust to me.

The 2nd 1st was used to draft Jamyr Gibbs, who also has done nothing.

The true haul from that trade turned out to be Goff, who has been a top 5 QB since the middle of last season.
