Red Sox DFA Varvaro

Anthony Varvaro is there to be had.

Had no problem with the job he did with the Braves. How does bringing him back rate with other moves people are considering?

Bowman tweeted that Varvaro's elbow has been a concern, not sure if just meant recently or if that was also why we traded him in the first place. It could be both.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if someone claimed him unless the concerns about his elbow scare them away.

If we were interested in adding Varvaro back, I wouldn't expect that we'd max out our 40-man today with the addition of Veal. So now to add anyone else we'd need to DFA someone.

I guess he'll have to go back to working in the grocery store. I hope he was saving his pennies for someday like this

@JeffPassan: Not a big shocker Jordan Walden went on the DL. Velo down 2.5 mph from last April. He's in 10 Degrees going up later today on big velo dips.

Slightly related to the topic at hand. Looks like Walden is damaged goods.
