Reports: Two Dallas Police Officers Shot During Protests

Who were the officers protecting them from? Certainly not this guy because he was only after the police. Reality is those cops were there to keep them in line. It's real easy to ignore protests. It's not easy to ignore this. Police have gone into buisness for themselves. They actively fight positive reform and their unions spend money to lobby for the failed policies that turned communities into war zones. It's not about law enforcement anymore. It's about generating revenue. They are nothing more than a street gang with a badge. I am sure there are a good number of good cops. Just like there were good Nazis, good confederate soldiers, and good redcoats.

I view this as a revolutionary act. Police have been waging a war on people for a long time and hopefully this is just the start of people fighting back. It's their war on drugs that turned inner cities into war zones. You can blame black people all you want but the same **** happened when they tried to ban alcohol. Violence spiked. And what led to change? Killing police officers. If they want to be safe doing their jobs then they need to ask Congress to legislate the end of this war on people.

Your all hypocrites. The nation was founded by using violence against those enforcing unjust laws. Even George Washington advocated for mob violence. Under current law I do not own my body. I support mob violence against those who wish to deny my ownership of my body. If they don't want to die then maybe don't sign up to be a storm trooper on the death star.

Edit - and I want to point out I think the Trayvon shooting was justified.

You know laws can be changed in this country right? The war on drugs is not intently racist. In fact it was largely supported by prominent black politicians and civil rights leaders

If this keeps up on social media I'm going to have to delete my Facebook account again. It's either Shootings or Pokémon Go right now filling up my news feed.

You can control what you allow on your feed quite easily.

I don't want to block everyone. Seems like everyone is talking about either other. I've done it before because I kept seeing outrageous right wing website "articles" being posted.

You complain about your Facebook account constantly. It's all you reference when talking about all the crazy right wingers. Just go dark off FB dude. You will have lots more free time to do way more productive stuff. Especially if it's a ton of stuff that either don't interest you or are vehemently against....

I go dark every few months, especially during times like this when every one has an expert opinion on policy and politics whom normally don't care.

And it's annoying because the ones who post those right wing memes and links are decent people off Facebook who post regular stuff.... but that other 20% of the time they post it's just brutal.

I don't wanna not see their posts because the other 80% is fine, it's just the downside of being a liberal living in the conservative south.

Sure laws can be changed but people with authority have deceived and used propganda to convince people that those laws are good. I want those people held accountable for the destruction their lies have caused. I bought into that propganda most of my life too.

It's not so much about race to me, they do it to white people too. Its more like a war on poor people. The high crime rates are caused by a highly competitive black market. When they made alcohol illegal violent crime spiked in all major cities. The murder rate nearly doubled and federal prison population went up 560%. When they ended prohibition these numbers all returned to pre prohibition days.

Just get rid of it. You just listed a whole lotta stuff you don't have to deal with or see.

There are absolutely valid arguments to be made against the way police do things today. I believe they are overly militarized, trained to escalate situations too quickly, and are generally above the law in ways that are frightening.

But you have lost your mind.

Yeah because only right wingers post ridiculous things on Facebook.

The police were there to support the people in the protest and to make sure there was order. Im sure you understand that protests have a tendency to get ugly and violent.

I hope Cajun is on a watchlist. How do you not own your body?

Are you really that naive? This is what cops are there to do at protests.

Let me ask you a question. If a Police official tells his subordinates to search every black and latino age 14 to 21 do you consider them a criminal? Do you consider a cop a criminal if he sees and heres something like that and carries out his job as told and doesnt say anything?

Here is an example of what honest cops do when they see illegal activity.

I hope you run across a police officer who needs an arrest to meet his quota since your head is so far up their ass.

edit - almost forgot. I do not own my body because I can be arrested for smoking a joint in my own home. What I put into my body is my business and I believe Roe v Wade establishes that we have that privacy of our own body. How can someone have the right to kill a fetus inside their body but not smoke a joint? These same officers you weep for are the same ones I fear throwing a flash bang into my house in the middle of the night and murdering me because I inadvertently make a wrong movement while highly disoriented. Then the ones that murder me get a medal and claim they are justified in murdering me because I made a sudden movement. The way I see it I am a little safer now that theres a few less thugs off the street.

Youre a sorry sack of **** with your last sentence.

I hope the day comes that when you call the cops they don't show.

Thats the thing. I cant depend on police protection even if I support them. They would be far more likely to arrest me than to catch whoever I called the cops on. You know what people who cant call the cops do? They buy guns to protect themselves and their family. Thats how we got the violence in the inner cities. We are just beating our heads into a wall with this war on drugs. Now we have headaches and the same people who suggested beating our heads on a wall want to try hitting harder to fix the headache. I dont think any cop is innocent because they pay into unions who "protect and serve" the interests of the officers pay and job security over the welfare of the public. The heroes are the ones who come out and say "No I wont hide in a closet to catch turnstile jumpers to meet minority arrest quotas".

So the primary cause of inner-city crime is forced vigilantism? That sounds not very accurate at all. Are you certain of this causality?

The cause of the violence is the lucrative black market created by the war on drugs. It's not the drugs fault that the black markets are generally run by dangerous people. It's prohibition that floods street gangs with money and a reason to fight over territory to make that money. That money is what funds the stream of illegal weapons.
