And I want to add I am genuinely sorry about the small businesses being hurt by this. I read somewhere that losing the ASG will cost metro Atlanta something on the order of $100 million. That's a lot of hurt to real people and their families.
I hope Texas and other states are watching. Atlanta and Georgia are not deserving of this. I've admired how Raffensperger and Kemp told very poorly chosen one to stuff it on his fraud claims, and look forward to their testimony at his trial.
Texas to me is a more more deserving target. What Abbott did with respect to dropboxes in Harris County and other densely populated counties was pathetic. And I have not forgotten that absurd lawsuit file by their AG, which helped bring about the events of January 6. So I'm sorry Georgia is getting the grief that Texas deserves. I fear that jumping the gun on Georgia will in various ways diminish the impact when we need to respond to actual voter suppression. Participatory democracy is important and we ought to be looking for ways to increase it not decrease it.
