Riley out 6-8 weeks

So who realistically can play 3b while he is out? And i’m waiting on some retard to come in and blame AA for not having more depth bs.
 
This is incredible in the worst way. I don't even know what to say. The injury list is massive and continues to get longer.

Two things come to mind for me:

1) if we're being completely honest, being the most unlucky team (by a statistical mile) in baseball doubled with being the most injured and still holding down a playoff spot is kind of amazing.

2) You cannot account for this many key injuries, but it's where AA not grabbing a super utility at the Deadline like everyone knew he needed to grab hurts.

I mean while losing Strider absolutely sucks. I think you do have to plan on a starter or two to miss signifiant time each year. Braves have done a really good job with that. Sale having the 2nd best year in a HOF career doesn't hurt.
 
This will change AA’s mindset going into the offseason for depth. If Snit is still around then he’ll have to be taught how to manage utility guys properly. I’m not worried about the defense at 3b as much as i am his bat in the lineup. We really need Soler back now.

Not an option I would rule out personally

call up Baldwin or Tromp and run the best you can. At this point is defense really the thing that will keep you from making the playoffs. Just drop the best hitters out there and hope to club the other team to death.

If they insist on using Luke, then you have to consider Ozuna in LF and DH the catchers.

No way you can run Kelenic, arcia, whit, and Luke until ozzie gets back.


What about Soler.. any updates on him? I was gone all weekend so I might have missed something.
 
When the Braves still some how make the playoffs, Snit is going to win manager of the year and we will be stuck with him forever
 
While no roster could sustain these injuries, the bench was never built to sustain even a single injury at any position other than catcher. And that is on AA.

Next season the bench needs to be Kelenic, Arcia, Laureano, and TDA/Murphy. That is a very solid bench that can withstand some injury problems, and it is critical Snit figures out how to keep those 3 guys fresh by getting regular (but limited) playing time.

The best plan is to bring up Nacho and hope for the best until Ozzie returns. Then Whit can move to 3B
