Rittenhouse trial

Arizona university students demand administration to 'withdraw' Kyle Rittenhouse: 'killer off our campus'

The groups also demand that the university administration "reaffirm support for the multicultural center on campus as a safe space from White Supremacy."

"The goal of these demands is to let the ASU administration know that we as the ASU community do not feel safe knowing that a mass shooter, who has expressed violent intentions about ‘protecting property’ over people, is so carelessly allowed to be admitted to the school at all," the spokesperson said. "Our campus is already unsafe as is, and we would like to abate this danger as much as possible."

The Students for Socialism chapter spokesperson contended that the Rittenhouse trial "effectively gives right-winged individuals the license to kill other individuals who protest for human rights."

"Rittenhouse took the lives of innocent people with the intent to do so—by strapping an assault rifle to himself in a crowd of unarmed citizens. That is the textbook definition of intention. The decision made by the court is one of thousands of cases that have been influenced by biased judges, predominantly white juries, and mistakes inherent in a judicial system founded off of injustice to begin with," the spokesperson said.

This would be absolutely unacceptable. Whether some like it or not, Rittenhouse was found not guilty of murder, and to my knowledge has not said or done anything that would provide evidence of being a White Supremacist. Any further objections regarding Rittenhouse and the situation should be directed at the laws. I say this as someone who has repeatedly stated I don’t think the actions leading up to him shooting the protestors in self defense were a good idea.

The claim that he makes them feel unsafe is especially absurd when you realize he's an online only student. These people aren't protesting in good faith, they're trying to push their own flavor of authoritarianism.

Its the same subset of people that didn't care about George Floyd or Black Lives.

Its an organized revolutionary movement that we have ignored for far too long.

What they are doing should be criminal. I have no doubt ASU will comply with their demands but they should kick all those students out instead of Rittenhouse.

They are using buzzwords they were taught. Throughout school they were taught that everyone else must comply with what makes them feel safe. So when they want to get their way they say they dont feel safe. I see people try this **** all the time with cops and it never ends well.
