Roger Ailes Is Dead

...and I don't feel so good myself.

He gave us Rush Limbaugh, Richard Nixon and Fox News and the basket of deplorables and half wits that inhabited the rats nest they called a "news network"
He invented we report you decide -- Fair and Balanced --- Law and Order candidates -- dog whistles of racism and misogyny -- not to mention he leaves behind a stench of sexual predators that include Bill O and himself. The results are still coming in.
He gave Karl Rove a pulpit and gave us Sean Hannity which would place most any other person entry into Dante's Inferno.
Oh yeah I almost forgot he paved the road Trump rode to the White House
Having said all that he was the most influential person in American Politics / Society from 1968 until today
You can look it up

I'd say rest in peace but ... I hope he and his get their just deserts.

It seems like everyone, regardless of political affiliation, decries the extreme polarization in our politics, the idea that people who are different than you, and believe different things, are not just wrong but actively working to harm you and wreck the republic.

Whatever Roger Ailes's talents and accomplishments, he probably did as much as any single individual to advance this worldview. It's an important legacy, but not one to be particularly proud of, IMO.

At least he is going to a very hot place where you guaranteed a suntan and many females, the ones with claws, very hairy armpits and talk with screeches....and smell very bad with their toxic breath.

I don't give a **** about his impact on political media right now, but good riddance given the environment he created for women in his workplace.

You gonna say the same about bill Clinton after he passes?

Quick. Everybody turn to Fox News. The News Specialists panel includes Stephen A. Smith and Ted Nugent! This is awesome.

Nah. I just believe people should be treated equally unlike you. Everything that alies is being accused of Clinton was guilty of too. Hell Clinton did worse things.

that you can't see that your post was a deflection is hilarious

when the living person you are talking about dies, you can try to make a point

just call a ****ty person that died a ****ty person and move on like any other sane person

Forgiveness is a beautiful thing, guys. Instead of dwelling on the bad, consider how we collectively learned to combat his evils and sleep better knowing that his sins were brought to relative justice.

He was a man, just like the rest of us, and he died. Wishing him to hell and spitting on his grave is petty.

i am not arguing i can't be petty

i'm just saying today and yesterday the world just a little bit better without the man

Sorry to ruffle your feathers, but he committed the crime while living with no repentance whatsoever will receive his just reward and you nor I make that final call. I call them like I see them. There are others on that same train that are breathing as well will suffer the same consequences. It is not because they've done this, they would it again without apologizing that is why I want defend or shed a tear for people like this.

"While living no repentance whatsoever" ?
"They would do it again without apologizing" ?

You don't know that. Couldn't possibly know that.

I don't buy deathbed repentances. Once a person is over the age of say 50 yrs old they lose all chance of forgiveness in my Bible.

I'm not in total disagreement. It seems disingenuous. I've often thought similarly about the 'born-again' philosophy. At the same time, I can't really bring myself to condemn those practices of faith because they haven't affected my own path ... yet. If they were to, I believe I'd want that same variety of peace in an uncertain time.

But understandably, to each his own.

I find it interesting that you all sense that there is evil, sin, damnation and hell and that there's something sinners need - forgiveness.

I also find it interesting that you sense it in regards to other people...

Maybe he was right in regards to those who pull the strings? Isn't the idea of a republic built around the acceptance of the fact that many of us have irreconcilable differences?

I've never said I thought Ailes was "evil", rabid perhaps. I think he was just another clever bully who used power and position to take advantage of others, both on a personal and a grander level.
