Rome Braves 8/24 (Kyle Wright)

Having 22 Wright back to go with Fried/Strider/Morton would be tremendous with the rest of the team. But i dont think he would factor into the discussion until the next round if we got there. Guess it also depends if Elder implodes down the stretch or not. He's thrown a ton of innings already.

If his fastball velo doesn't get back up to 96-97, I want no part of him in the October rotation, because he's going to get shelled throwing 92-93 with his stuff. These were A-ball hitters he was facing.

???

Assuming you mean topping out? Because he's sat 94-95 most of his career. Last year he bumped it up a bit, but still only averaged 95.1 on his Fourseamer.

yeah, I didn't remember Wright throwing that hard, but hadn't cared to go look. I thought Wright was the guy with a very average FB who just threw a bunch of different pitches so his FB played better. Maybe I am confusing him with someone else though.

Not going to set myself up for disappointment by expecting anything out of Wright or Nick Anderson this year. If they return at anything close to their best I'll be pleasantly shocked.

Nah, Wright has always been a bit of a junk baller who happens to throw pretty hard, and everything always hinged on how well he executed that junk.

If he's back having Fried/Strider/Morton/Wright is a game changer for the playoffs.

They aren't projecting Wright to be back until the start of the postseason so he'll be a gamble for sure

I’m not surprised he threw well in his first rehab start. What worries me is about his fifth real start when he starts loading up that shoulder. But I also would think command would be spotty first game back, but 91% strikes would seem to indicate he’s in pretty good shape there.

Maybe I remember him a tick higher than he‘s actually been. Point is, he can‘t live at 92-93. Hopefully, that goes up as he builds back strength, without losing the command.

Part of me wishes they would announce the MVP at the end of the regular season and that Mookie or Freddie would win just to witness Ronnie going off in spectacular fashion in the playoffs.

It is wild to think we actually won the World Series without Ronald all year.

I think the voters that are thinking Mookie or Freddie are gonna end up splitting their votes which will just help Acuña's cause

We did not do that. We had Acuña for half that year and I believe at the end of the season he still ranked second in fWAR on our team. He was our first half.

Braves would have been 10 out at the trade deadline if it weren’t for Sweet Ronald
