Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

LOL.

I think it's funny that Shumer is having to tell all his colleagues to vote present on the GND.

Like, why arent they all rushing to go on record in support?? Its brilliant legislation.

I think I'll have some fun putting together her greatest hits. I need a good laugh.

As for strong women? Give me Tulsi Gabbard... unfortunately she is a Russian spy obviously because she doesn't want to go to war with everyone.

Maybe we'll be able to keep this thread alive though.

Replying to @ryangrim

If you have a vote in the Senate, you also have to have a debate.

Dems could spend HOURS having an open debate on #ClimateChange on

floor then ultimately vote "present" as Feinstein said she'd do on the actual resolution,

sending out a press release that she agrees in principle.

Ha! Turns out the politics of the #GND aren’t

as simple as Fox News would have you believe.

Shocking!

Oh yeah, I forgot, Sturg doesn't get his news from Fox.
He apparently gets it from those that get theirs from Fox

getting back to Russian involvement.

wonder what happened behind closed doors today that involves a return trip for Mr Cohen next Wednesday

He has settled it wasnt he in Prague as alleged in the Steele Dossier.
......................

One of the things we learned Wednesday was, Trump inflated his worth to Deutsche Bank to receive a loan.
Putting the pieces together we learned that the numbers he provided the NFL to purchase the Buffalo Bills dont match the numbers he gave Deutsche Bank

Correct me if I am wrong, but there is documentation that it was Russians (remember them? ) that cosigned his loans with Deutsche Bank ?????
After no US banks would lend him a dime

Remember too when posters here were steadfast on what a great businessman DJT was ?
That would have been summer of 2016 should anyone care to go back and check.

It dawned on me that the story Mueller told about Manafort business dealings are awfully similar to Individual-1 business dealings

Apparently to be followed up by Sater and Weisselberg. I'm surprised it is the Intelligence Committee calling in Weisselberg.

In some ways though it makes sense for the Intelligence Committee have staff counsel question them in closed session and then have other committees follow up with matters that can be discussed in open session.

Also learned today that the names that Cohen named in testimony Wednesday should be expecting a knock on the door from Oversight Committee.
Per Rep Cummings

That would include - Don Jr -Eric and Ivanka / Jarad

Remember how on the Wire they had a board with pictures and names and connections ?
That detailed the comings and goings of the perps

Seems all the IT brainpower we have here throwing around half baked opinions we could get something useful out of um

16 years to move in the right direction. If sturg is right and the "free market" solves the conundrum in half the time then it's a win-win for everyone.

I thought Manafort was broke.

Representative Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence,

has hired a veteran prosecutor with experience fighting Russian organized crime to lead

his investigation of the Trump Administration. Last month, according to a committee source,

Daniel Goldman, who served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the

Southern District of New York from 2007 to 2017,

joined the committee’s staff as a senior adviser and the director of investigations.

Apparently according to the rules governing the special counsel they have to report to Congress every time their boss at the DOJ told them "no" or prevented them from anything they wanted to do. That should be an interesting report.

Michael Cohen on Wednesday provided the House Intelligence Committee with new documents showing edits to the false written statement he delivered to Congress in 2017 about the Trump Organization's pursuit of the Trump Tower Moscow project into the 2016 campaign season, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

The documents Cohen provided are intended to further explain his public testimony last week, in which Cohen said that President Donald Trump's then-personal lawyer Jay Sekulow made changes to his statement to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, and that it was reviewed ahead of time by lawyers like Abbe Lowell, an attorney for Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, the President's daughter and son-in-law who are both White House advisers.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/06/politics/michael-cohen-testimony-congress/index.html

We have to see what those edits involved. But this seems like a potentially big problem for Trump and his lawyers. I presume his lawyers are acting on his behalf and at his direction.

and there is also this:

In the weeks following the federal raids on former Michael Cohen’s law office and residences last April, President Donald Trump's former lawyer and confidant was contacted by two New York attorneys who claimed to be in close contact with Rudy Giuliani, the current personal attorney to Trump, according to sources with direct knowledge of the discussions.

The outreach came just as Cohen, who spent more than a decade advocating for Trump, was wrangling with the most consequential decision of his life; whether to remain in a joint defense agreement with the president and others, or to flip on the man to whom he had pledged immutable loyalty. The sources described the lawyers’ contact with Cohen as an effort to keep him in the tent.

Cohen generated a bounty of bold-faced headlines during his public testimony before Congress last week. He called the occupant of the Oval Office a racist, a con-man and a cheat and accused the president of at least one crime while in office.

Yet for all the attention paid to what Cohen was willing to say about the president, his reluctance to answer a question about the last communications he had with Trump or someone acting on his behalf made news on its own. Cohen clammed up and claimed that federal prosecutors were actively probing that very issue.
