Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

I believe the GSA is the account owner referenced by Peter Carr. All of these emails are government property. And I believe the doctrine of executive privilege only applies to the sitting president, not the president-elect.

Sounds like ownership would be specified on a contract.

When we're these documents obtained?

The ones from the GSA in August. But the ones obtained through a subpoena or warrant might have been more recent. An example of the latter would be the search they conducted of Manafort's home. The warrant probably included the contents of his computers. If I recall they found emails during that search that he had failed to turn over in response to prior subpoenas.

The targets of this investigation seem to have been especially clueless about covering their tracks. An optimistic view might be that they never thought of their activity as criminal. A pessimistic view is that they were both venal and clueless. The part I am most confident of is the clueless part. Plus some of them were preoccupied with other pressing concerns. In Kushner's case dealing with the financing for 666.

So anyone want to make a little bet on the over under for number of counts in Kushner's indictment. I'd like to have the over at 10.

I'd guess under

I think the counts for perjury will be numerous. Plus I think Mueller will throw the book at him on the omissions when applying for a security clearance (and there could be multiple charges in that regard). And the coup de grace will likely be the conspiracy charges. I think there will an obstruction charge and a conspiracy to obstruct. The distinction between the obstruction and conspiracy to obstruct is important (the latter signalling the involvement of others). There could be multiple obstruction charges (one relating to instructing Flynn to lie, others related to the subsequent investigation). Finally, to the extent there is a charge regarding quid pro quo with the Russians, it is likely to be in the form a conspiracy to engage in such an arrangement. Oh and I'm not even counting possible financial crimes that might be revealed by the Deutsche records.

I'm starting to think Mueller will be fired before Kushner indictment unless the indictment comes in the next day or so.

The chatter that he was going to get indicted in the coming days seems to have died down to a degree. If it does happen, this is going to be a hell of a week.

Just recently said he would not. Whoever is telling him to fire him wants trump to be impeached.

How many times has Trump said he wasn’t going to do something or criticized something then did the opposite?

You can find tweets and tweets of President Trump contradicting Candidate and Birther Trump.

He's not going to fire Mueller. He might push Sessions out and let Pompeo clean house at the DoJ/FBI, though, and let the new hires try to unwind or hamstring the investigation. It's a more publicly defensible way of achieving something close to the same end.
