As a thought exercise nsacpi - Are there any circumstances where a lawyer can have a mental compromise (COI) without a direct involvement in the parties at hand in the case?

Let's put it this way. If he thought there was a remote possibility that any of these people would allow their political leanings to affect their professional conduct he would not have hired them.

The greater likelihood is that he compiled this team on the fly, primarily from a professional network, and gave zero thought to these kind of external considerations.

nsacpi is a long-term never-Trumper, so it's natural that he support the investigation as resolutely as possible. It's the final lifeline and there's a clear investment in protecting it.

Although acknowledging instances of investigational malfeasance isn't tantamount to deeming the probe a complete sham.

A successful Trump presidency is the biggest fear of people like nsacpi as well as radical leftists. They see the writing on the wall in regards to the political movements in Europe.
 
I can't believe that most of you are whistling past the graveyard with all these instances of team members who have a clear bias. If it was one, heck maybe two, it would be understandable. But how many are we up to now? 5-7?

Unless you are telling me that the top levels of the FBI are filled with leftists then I would agree and that is reason for change in our government.

in the interest of full disclosure and transparency I am happy to confirm that I am indeed an ardent never Trumper...

...although the rest of my politics would probably surprise most of you

Clearly Mueller felt that Strzok could not do that. The question is whether or not he would have ever done that if not for the IG got involved and if he knew of this extreme bias prior and did nothing. Inquiring minds want to know.
 
One more thing. Even though I'm anti-Trump I'm not eager to see him removed from office. I think the investigation should play itself out. But a part of me wants him in there the full four years. He is the legitimately elected president.
