Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

Sounds like Wray might resign if Trump clears the memo for release. He's a deep stater right?

Wray has an absolutely pristine reputation in the Atlanta area and really had nothing to gain from taking the job in the first place. People close to him said he only accepted the job reluctantly out of a sense of duty to answer the call. If he's willing to resign over this, then my money is on it being due to natsec concerns, and not because of damage to the reputation of any department. This report tempers my curiosity a great deal.

Didn't realize he was an Atlanta guy.

Is Devin Nunes the dumbest representative in Congress? Committee votes on releasing the memo that he, his staff and the White House put together. It gets voted to be released. He then sends an altered version of the memo to the White House for release, not the one that was actually voted on. WTF is wrong with this man?

Throw in the fact that Gowdy, who has tried to be rational on this matter but has been undermined by Nunes every step of the way it seems, chose today to announce he's retiring from politics.

It's shady if it's true and if it's a material difference.

This is Schiff we're talking about, who is like Colonel Kurtz-level paranoid.

Schiff is vastly more trustworthy than Nunes could ever be. If it's something like a comma missing, then yea Schiff should roll one and crack open a beer.

If it's altered at all, regardless of a material difference, it's a problem. It shows a willingness to deceive. It also wasn't what was voted on.

It makes zero sense to alter the document, it just brings about more questions like why are you altering it in the first place? Why did he abruptly alter it? Did the White House have anything to do with it being altered? With as much skepticism as there is given it's by noted liar Devin Nunes, this is the last thing you do. What a clown.

Whoa what is going on.

How many House GOP members have announced they're not seeking re-election this year?

Gowdy is surprising since he's one of the younger tea party guys.

"While the Majority's changes do not correct the profound distortions and inaccuracies in your document, they are nonetheless substantive."

This language makes it sounds like the changes were possibly made in an attempt to placate the FBI.

That's a rational take

There's been talk of Gowdy running for SC Governor floating around for a few months now.

I can buy that. But whats the explanation for the other 25+ who announced they will not seek re-election.

I know things are looking better for dems to take House but with Trump doing so well as thethe reminds us they shouldn't have to worry about losing.

Several committee chairmen. There was some chatter about him being disappointed in not getting an AG nomination. The running for governor angle makes sense too.

Must kill you guys that Trump was so successful in his first year after 8 years of a failure.

22 Republicans, 8 Democrats

You really have to take each seat on a case by case basis, but there's nothing that I see as indicative of any sort of trend or prevailing thought pattern (like being afraid of losing an election, as you allude).
