Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

I agree with that.

What do you think happens first, Mueller gets him for collusion or the Germans take him down? I know both are imminent

yesterday was a heavy news day, but there was a reason why i greeted my trumpophilic friends with a guten morgen...i guess i am too subtle for yall

At this point he will lose re election before Mueller proves anything.

You can't on one hand tell me how treasonous and terrible this is and that were being ruled by Putin, and then say "two years isn't enough time..."

If your accusations are true this has to be expedited. Trump's already picked two supreme Court justices. He's making permenant tax law. He's starting trade wars (with Russia allies).

If this is all Putin we need to move faster than government precedent (I'm being serious)

in the Valery Plame case George W Bush from the outset was eager to sit with the special counsel and answer his questions...in the current matter such eagerness to share information is not so much in evidence...so yeah I wish Mueller would move even faster but I think he is doing just fine...

as i recall you think this whole thing is a witch hunt

Oh I picked up on it which is what reminded me.

I'm gonna go over to the betting markets and bet a lot on impeachment... Which happens first in your opinion

This was just posted a few hours ago.
Second day of the raid.

From Bloomberg yesterday

Looks like the timing of all this is all unraveling at the same time. Cohen knows where the money trail is. He is the Genco/Tom Hagen to Don Corleone (although Vito and Michael were miles smarter than Trump could ever dream of being, and Eric and Jr are pretty much Fredo clones with the testosterone of Santino). Would not be surprised if the FBI gave the greenlight to Germans to go through with the raid once Cohen's imminent cooperation was confirmed.

impeachment sometime late this year or early next...probably not conviction by the Senate

Late this year in the lame duck? Wow.

As useless as Paul Ryan has been under Trump's Presidency I don't see him all of the sudden doing the American people a favor.

What evidence suggests that? Building a tower in Moscow?

the Tower project is one element of a quid pro quo

other elements

1) hacking and disseminating stolen emails
2) changes to GOP platform on Ukraine
3) promises of changes to sanctions policy
4) coordination with WikiLeaks to weaponise the stolen emails

there is new information in Cohen's plea agreement about the nature of the financial quid pro quo

and of course there are quite a few leads to be followed, such as the money Peter W Smith raised to pay the "Russian students"

I don't see Pelosi giving the go ahead on impeachment.
It would, as noted, be a waste of time with the Senate voting along party lines.
Even should (D) peal off 2 or 3 (R) Senators impeachment is a 2/3 requirement

Pelosi hasn't stayed in leadership for over 20 years by foolishly chasing losing propositions

McConnel has done far more damage

Depends.

Trump has exposed a large segment of the population that has always existed and wont be going away quietly for some time. Even if Trump goes away, the mold of his supporters arent going to change or all of the sudden be kumbaya.

McConnell may have done more damage from a legislative perspective, but I really think you do undersell how much Trump's rhetoric and influence he's had culturally the last two years in making his type of politics "normal" to certain people.

We won't know for a few years the lasting effects of Trump's effect on the political landscape. McConnell has never been this popular or effective even with the conservative base. He's just really good at doing what he does which is be horrible for anyone wanting bipartisanship.

i think the Dems will take it slow...the pace probably depends more on how many Republicans come on board than anything else

I admire your obtuseness and stubbornness in wasting your time the last year and a half trying to explain this to him over and over everytime he's asked this question but refused to actually see what's in front of him.

unfortunately i have a lot of real life experience dealing with willfully obtuse people...it seems to have become a specialty of mine
