Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

Trump/McConnell's hand picked Toady made it go away.

Who'da thunk it
..............................

For the good of all, this is not sustainable

Hooboy, I read the brief and the argument being put forward is:

- It doesn't matter that he lied, because:
- One casefile should have been closed already (even though it was in reality, still open), and:
- A second casefile had not been formally opened (even though the FBI was discussing it), so:
- It would be impossible for the lie to matter.

They are really bending over backwards with that one. It reads absolutely like a defense filing. Hopefully this ushers in a new era of extreme prosecutorial restraint in non-Trump-crony cases.

Not gonna hold my breath on that one either.

Wonder what this does to the Gov. obligations under his plea deal.

Can't say I'm shocked at the response of this proper vindication.

Get used to it. They will start to line up and then real convictions will take place.

That's a terrible summary of the brief. Did you just skim 2 or 3 pages? It clearly demonstrates a partisan attempt at entrapment by a rogue intelligence agency performing well outside the norm toward taking down their opposition. It's a blot on the Department of Justice and today is the 1st milestone toward rectifying that blot. Not to mention every single player opposing Flynn within the FBI has rightfullly been long terminated due to lack of candor. The writing is on the wall, you all just seem to prefer looking at the ground.

Flynn is innocent. There was no Russian Collusion. Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Power were manufactured hoaxes. The corruption in Ukraine was all Biden. You people have been wrong every step of the way. And I have no doubt will remain that way till the bitter end. 11/03 is coming for ya.

Fifty-seven interview transcripts from the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into allegations of collusion between President Trump and the Russian government during the 2016 election were released to the public on Thursday, after a year-and-a-half long redaction process in which the White House demanded to review and redact the testimony before its public release.

House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) made the transcripts — including interviews with former Blackwater CEO Erik Prince, Presidential adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Trump 2016 campaign chairman Steve Bannon — available on the House website.

The move came after acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell told lawmakers in a letter that the White House was dropping its demand to redact the documents.

Instead, career intelligence staff redacted the transcripts for potentially sensitive information.

“These transcripts should have been released long before now, but the White House held up their release to the public by refusing to allow the Intelligence Community to make redactions on the basis of classified information, rather than White House political interests,” Rep. Schiff said in a statement. “Only now, and during a deadly pandemic, has the President released his hold on this damning information and evidence.”

The release comes hours after the Justice Department moved to drop charges against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, saying it could not prove the allegations to which Flynn pleaded guilty in court.

The transcripts offer a fuller account of the committee’s investigation, led by the then-Republican majority and its then-chair, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA). Nunes sent the transcripts for classification review in September 2018.

The release includes correspondence between the panel and attorneys for the witnesses. It also includes a letter that Rep. Schiff sent to Attorney General Bill Barr in April 2019 referring Erik Prince for prosecution for allegedly lying to the committee.

“Like the Ukraine investigation that would follow it, the investigation into the Trump campaign’s effort to seek and utilize Russian help in 2016 and to obstruct justice, reveal a President who believes that he is above the law,” Schiff said in the statement. “But we are a country where the truth still matters and where right still matters. Our investigation into the Trump campaign, and the evidence we uncovered despite formidable obstruction, affirms that.”

AG Bill Barr speaks to CBS about Flynn.

CBS: When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written?

Barr: Well, history is written by the winners, so it largely depends on who's writing the history.

That's a terrible summary of the brief. [...] It's a blot on the Department of Justice

At least we agree on something.

I did read the brief, did you? Looks nothing like any prosecutorial brief I've seen. I would looooove it if this level of "self-restraint" was used by prosecutors going forward, but again, not holding my breath.

I feel confident that each of those points I reference is essentially directly stated and constitute the basic argument.

Or you know most of us said we didnt expect to find direct collusion BEFORE the Mueller report dropped. We expected they would look into the financial dealings with Russia and they did not. That was our mistake. I do however have Trump on tape asking Russia for help with his campaign.

I dont have a chance to read about the Flynn stuff. Not sure what legal actions the next administration can take after this. Pretty sure the judge can and I would assume would reject this kind of move. My question would be if tje judge now lets him off can he be charged again? Is that double jeporday? I would think not because he didnt win by a verdict just by the case being dropped.

They have him red handed on 2 cases of perjury. He testified under oath that he was both guilty and that the FBI did not entrap him. So I look forward to that once this clown show is over.
