Sale stops the bleeding GDT Braves vs Brewers

Yeah Verdugo has to go. Eli White has a better chance of getting hot and he at least brings better defense and speed. I don't care about matchups at the point just let the better player play.

Acuña on a 10.1 WAR per 162 pace.
What amuses me was all the people saying Acuna wouldn't be a good hitter this year because he wasn't a good hitter the last time he came back from knee surgery. His performance that year was more mental than anything. Dude is a top talent in the game and is going to hit most of the time he's on the field.

Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself, but here's Ronald's stats his first month back in 2022...
.304/.412/.464
145 wrc+

Acuna had only 2 homers and 7 doubles his first 100+ PAs in 2022. He wasn't hitting the ball with much authority.

Compare that to now where his average EV is 97.1 and he has 5 homers in his first 69 PAs.

The only minor concern for Acuna right now is the K rate. But considering it's only been 69 PAs coming back from injury, that is honestly just nitpicking.

I am surprised by Acuna's performance thus far.. but one should take caution with SSS in any direction. As games go on, his knees are going to hurt, he will compensate and other things will end up hurting.. not saying he will go on the IL or anything.. but I would bet he will miss a few games due to inflammation.. What will be interesting is the numbers around those times.. Hoping that won't happen of course and he just beasts his way through the year. But just like Strider, he didn't get his full offseason of conditioning and workouts... it cost Strider a hammy issue which zapped his velo.. I have a feeling it will get Acuna as well.

Yeah, it was foolish to think a guy coming back from his 2nd major knee surgery might not be great when he wasn't great coming back from his first knee surgery.

I'd be interested to see your Acuna projections where you had him at 1.000 OPS right out of the gate. Could you go ahead and link it for us? Or is this an "I told you so" despite never telling us anything?

He's been great, and hasn't stolen a single base. How can that possibly be the case? How can a player possibly be impactful without trying to steal meaningless bases?
His defense is rating better than it has since before his first ACL injury. Small sample, but still a positive development.
