Sally League Top 20

"70 glove, 60 arm, and top-of-the scale speed"

Likely makes Acuna a corner guy for the duration of his time here. Obviously early, but with just average development with the bat you're talking a Billy Hamilton-type (if a step slower). The scouts they talked to were comfortable enough to project eventual 10-12 HR pop for him. Solid development with the bat means you replace Ender with a faster Ender down the road.

OMG...clv is right...finally!

I have to go check for any pigs that flew overhead...

Pretty interesting from their Sally League chat (Taveras is ranked #27 overall by Pipeline)--

Dan (Sally Land): Pache vs Taveras seems like an interesting debate. Pache seems to show better contact skills and defense. If he can be projected to 15-20hrs, could he surpass Leody?

J.J. Cooper: It was an interesting debate. Absolutely if you were confident that Pache is going to hit for even average power I'd say he would edge Taveras, but that's a big jump from his lack of power now. I and a number of scouts do believe he'll fill out, but it's projecting a lot.

Power projection is going to be tricky for prospects now that the MLB baseballs are flying like golf balls. Guys with good hit tools and very little power in the minors are suddenly going to be hitting 10-15 HRs as soon as they are promoted.

The new MLB baseball is going to put an emphasis back on prospects who make contact, and make the "great power if he makes enough contact" guys much less valuable. Pretty much why I'd like the Braves to sell high on Riley if they are going to acquire an MLB piece via trade.
