Same-Sex Marriage is now a Right

Just to make it clear, I'm pro-gay marriage, but the Court took the clumsy way out of this and striker's post is a very solid one. But I'd argue that the Roberts' court has taken the clumsy way out of quite a few issues on both sides of the ledger. Reaction to the decision usually reflects which side of the 5-4 one is on.

Yeah, I make tons of money off of doings weddings... That right there is funny.

The State paid me some mega-bucks for signing those certificates. Ha!

Well, I'm going to give up those big State bucks and stop signing marriage licenses.

We've had the same basic discussion involving death. Just because you personally might be an exception, doesn't mean it isn't true. There are numerous ways religion and government has profited from marriage and will continue to do so.

And it's your right to stop signing marriage licenses, as it should be. I certainly don't hold it against you. If you're going to believe in something like religion, you should embrace it...warts and all. Good for you.

I'm one of the few pubs who respected Roberts' decision on Obamacare. He believes that laws should be upheld if at all possible. And he reached a legitimate conclusion in regards to the mandate. And I agree with that. That's placing democracy first. I think if every judge were like Roberts then we'd have a perfect court. Of course instead we have a group of liberals, a group of conservatives and then whatever the hell Kennedy is.

whatever the hell Kennedy is? i am still trying to figure out what Scalia and Thomas are instead of Kennedy.

Kennedy seems to not toe the company line and listens to arguments and does what he thinks is the moral and right choice for the people and the country

Until he starts getting threats of his church being burned to the ground

I think Roberts is a smart guy who can set down his blinders. I think Alito, Scalia, Thomas, Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagen keep theirs on too often. I should amend that a bit, because I think Sotomayor has shown a bit of an independent streak. Kennedy has the toughest job of all because he probably has to sit alone at lunch a lot depending on the latest decision in which he was the fifth vote.
