Troy Conyers needs to be in Rome. He's definitely too good for those kids down in the GCL!

College senior who was drafted in the 23rd round. Probably just too experienced for guys that are 4 or 5 years younger than he is and lack the experience.

This was from a scouting report prior to the 2016 draft: Troy Conyers has been one of my favorite draft arms for what feels like a decade now. He’s got a lot of the elements for being a major draft sleeper who winds up a better pro than amateur: handedness (LHP), size (6-5, 225), history of playing both ways (41 AB in 2014 isn’t a ton, but it’s something), and a Tommy John surgery (2014) that slowed his ascent just enough (temporarily, we think/hope) to depress his draft stock.

Should probably be in Danville tomorrow.

Soto and Gutierrez both went 1-3 in the GCL today. Wright, Del Rosario, and Conyers looked good.

Jeffrey Ramos with a 3-run HR and Yunior with 2 hits in the earlier game that was finished today (game started yesterday but was postponed). Tarnok pitched an inning last night.

Antonio Sucre went 3-4 for the DSL Braves in a win.

Sanchez on the mound later for Florida. Gohara for Mississippi. Danville TBD. Gwinnett has Sims.

Rome just started. Pache 1-1 with a single to center. Bryse Wilson had an easy 1st inning.

#Braves Kevin Maitan with a long bomb to left. #OppoPower

Effortless swing and very quick to the ball. Scary power

Sims is through five, has allowed 1 hit, 1 walk and struck out seven -- ERA down to 3.82. It's crazy how solid he looks this year. Dude could be a number 3-4 horse for a long time. If not, I could see a really good bullpen piece.

Also, Albies just homered.

He's adapted to the improved pitching and is now hitting over .300. Kid is going to be really good.
