Is it safe to say Fried has been disappointing or will I get yelled out again?

Let's hope he turns it around

It's definitely safe to say that. JJ Cooper from Baseball America also said yesterday that Fried's velocity has been down. It has definitely not been a good start for him.

Fried in 2016 (Low A): 3.97 FIP, 9.8 K/9, 4.1 BB/9
Fried in 2017 (skips High A and goes to AA): 4.17 FIP, 9.0 K/9, 4.2 BB/9

Admittedly, I'd hoped to see him do better . . . but I'm not overly concerned.

He has not been horrible, just very average. I had high hopes for him the way he ended the year. He might still be fine.

All this tells me is he wasn't very good last year, either. And has gotten worse

A midseason report on the Fire Frogs says that Alex Jackson is "only a couple of weeks away" after missing more than a month after being hit by a pitch. Still don't know exact injury.

Well, last year he was coming off missing almost two full seasons. I don't think skipping a level and putting up slightly worse numbers means he's been worse, either. I won't say he's been great or super encouraging, but I also prefer to be (very) patient with prospects, especially one that missed two full years. If his velo is way down or stuff looks way worse, that's one thing. But I haven't seen him. The numbers alone don't concern me.

I'm not saying to give up on him... but I think his days of being considered a big prospect are over.

At some point, you have to get outs. It's not like he's 19

Yefri Del Rosario in his second pro start for the DSL: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K.

I heard Brian Bridges say the other day that he has been 92-6 with a plus curveball. He also said he'd be pitching in the GCL, which starts on Thursday.
