Davidson comes out after one very shaky inning. Pitching for a horsecrap team might be starting to get to him.

He was awful. Couldn’t get anything over. Up on every pitch. He did hit 97 a couple times.

Waters 3-3. Kid is a hitting machine. Roped a 2B to right corner and has slapped two between SS and 3B.

Waters has 30 2b. A lot of those will be HRs in AAA/mlb

Positive sign from Austin Beck and props to Phil Pfeifer for just doing what he has to do for a team that is having a lot of trouble winning games.

Austin is the Beck we elected not to go after ;)

Thanks for the correction. And while Tristan has had his problems, hopefully we end up getting the better Beck. At least I didn't say Jeff Beck (all-time great guitarist, but probably not much on the diamond).

I think we dodged a bullet not getting Austin Beck... I'm glad because I always had a feeling Austin was going to underwhelm for some reason.

12.2 shutout IP, 9 hits, 13 Ks, 1 BB in his last two starts.

If he can stay healthy, continued development could make moving an arm or two ahead of him much more palatable. Given the expected development time needed for Muller, Davidson, Wentz, Beck, Tarnok, and De La Cruz, including Wright (or even Wright and Wilson) in a monster deal doesn't seem quite as scary as it has in the past. If you could go get a Stroman/Giles deal done using Wright, and a Smith deal done using Wilson I'm not nearly as against it as I would have been in the past. I think at least one of Folty or Gausman are going to get things back together enough to allow AA to be really careful with Soroka's innings soon enough, Julio is pitching well enough that you can do the same with Fried, and you've still got Allard, Weigel, and Ynoa in Gwinnett in case of emergency.

At this point I'd almost love to see AA go make a Stroman/Giles deal AND get Smith and take a shot at this.
