SATURDAY MINORS final 8/19: Pure Pitching Pleasurepdd

I'd be fine with Phillips at 3b as a stop gap. I still wonder what they do with Camargo when he comes back. Is Swanson better since coming up bc he cleared his head some or bc he knows Camargo is injured and isn't breathing down his neck?

Of all the pitchers in the Braves system, Touki is the guy I want to watch pitch with statcast tracking his pitches. I want to see the data on a bugs bunny curveball.

Wasn't there a post linking some sort of analysis of his curve on here a while back? Maybe there was only a video of a pitch that showed what looked like staggering vertical movement. I agree that it would be nice to have some measurable data reported. Isn't his fastball supposed to have good movement as well?

If the money is close, I would almost expect it.

At first thought...yes....but what's the chances Phillips and even Dickey replicate the year they have had next year. They both will be a year older and chances are better Phillips does not do as well our stays hurt a good bit more. Smarter to smile, be glad they did well...and send them on their way.

It's worked well mainly because Camargo has happened to be hurt , once he is back...things change. You will have one of Swanson, Oz or Camargo on the bench every night . All three of those young guys need to be playing every day.

Add that to the fact that Coppy said He expects Riley to be up in 2018. I give Phillips a big thanks and send him on his way...he's done great. Let's not go all JJ on him because of his good year.

He seems insulted that he's been asked to play third base.

I think he leaves. Being a stopgap on a loser at a position you didn't not want to play seems like a thing you'd do if there wasn't any other option.
