I read yesterday fighting Covid 19 is like fighting Viet Nam
It got to hard and too expensive so officials declared victory and got out.
 
Is that on Trump, of course it is.

Now I ask again, what safeguards are in place to protect children and teachers ?
 
So if they dont go back now, then when? This virus isnt going away anytime soon. Do we wait for a vaccine? Who knows how effective it will be, and how many parents are gonna want their kids to be first in line to try a new vaccine? How long can parents afford to keep not working so they can basically homeschool their children?

What did other countries do?

Subsidized parents staying home --- I think.
Hard to make that work on $1200 when Trumps friends and donors used stimulus as their private piggy bank
ala Trump Foundation or any other Trump organization.


We had 4 months + to figure this out, instead we heard platitudes and utter bull**** from those that had the authority to get us out of this
We made another bad choice.

How long do we keep paying these parents not to work? How much do we pay them? Does everyone get the same amount? Where does this money keep coming from?
 
This is a discussion we should have been having in March, instead the authorities said it would blow over and we would all be back out and back to normal by Easter.

Cant wait to find out what was in the pandemic playbook Trump inherited

My thoughts are unless we change, 180degrees change, there will be a lot of needless suffering.

Will it change --- I dont know, how long will Trump and (R) stay in power ?
Trump and McConnell are the only ones today that are in position to change it
and they show no inclination

Even if Trump/McConnell is defeated it would be at least a year until some form of relief comes

I think the historical model is the Great Depression. There are those that argue the only thing that brought us out of that was WWII
