Teachers for the most part are lazy rejects who just get into the profession for summers off. They think they are hero’s while our nations children get dumber (not just teachers fault but they play a big part in it)
In an earlier life I witnessed the mediocrity of educators and was shocked.

One of the cushiest jobs out there. They make more than double median pay annualized. They cannot get fired. They do not have to have high performance. They get summers off and large breaks in spring and winter. And nearly anyone can do it (which is why they dont get paid more).
There are certainly amazing teachers out there. Just like there are amazing cops. But the industry as a whole is brutally bad

Community homeschooling is the way of the future.
Once my boy is of age I will be presenting my mathematical/programming/financial knowledge to a collection of other accomplished parents to give real education to our children.

This whole school thing is weird. Republicans are so eager to get their kids to the liberal indoctrination centers known as public schools and we have teachers admitting they are glorified babysitters.
Honestly though, you could teach your kids what they learn in school in 30 minutes a day.

Legacy points are a scandal. And distinctly slant things in favor of aristocracy at the expense of meritocracy. But some schools like the $$ from rich alums too much. Sometimes a rich non-alum can buy their child a spot of Harvard if they give enough $$. It is a shameful practice.

MIT is a school near and dear to my heart. And they give out zero/zip/nada consideration to whether an applicant has any family connections. That is how it should be. And MIT is not the only school with that policy. But those schools are a distinct minority in that regard.
