School Openings

MIT is a school near and dear to my heart. And they give out zero/zip/nada consideration to whether an applicant has any family connections. That is how it should be. And MIT is not the only school with that policy. But those schools are a distinct minority in that regard.

Isn't MIT the school that is doing racially segregated yoga classes?

I have a feeling pure merit isn't at the top of their list these days

yeah well i was embarrassed to see that

MIT does have a student body that is skewed toward white male or Asian male. They have various programs to bring in more women and other minorities into the sciences. I haven't paid much attention to those programs. But I think those are commendable objectives. In general though, I think schools should focus more on bringing in students of disadvantaged backgrounds without reference to race. There are a lot of "advantaged" black and Hispanic applicants who need no help and lots of disadvantaged white applicants who should be given credit for overcoming long odds to show they deserve a place in a top school.

The idea that you frame it as "defeating" covid shows how useless your position is.

We went from the slow the spread to zero covid real fast.

Few groups I despise more than public school teachers. Theres a lot of good ones out there but there are also a whole lot of power drunk bullies working as teachers.

We need to tear down public education and rebuild it from the ground up. I dont have a problem paying teachers more IF we are getting quality or of them. School as it is now isnt about learning the basic skills needed in life it's about teaching submission to authority.

A lot of it isn't the teachers' fault. Bureaucracy, nightmare parents, no ability to discipline kids, a society that's just generally more concerned with excuses than accountability. I wanted to teach a few years back. Teachers I respected begged me not to do that to myself.

A lot of my animosity towards teachers comes from personal experience. I was threatened with expulsion many times over because I defended myself from violence. They ****ing told me if someone hits me to curl into a ball on the ground. They told me I had no rights, my parents had them for me. All I ever asked for was for teachers to follow the same rules we were expected to. If we cant defend ourselves theybshiuslnt be able to. If we have to wear uniforms and name tags so should they. These ****ers literally made us wear uniforms saying we could be shot for wearing the wrong color and the colors we could wear were red and blue. Seriously.

Anyone who follows lockdown orders are chumps. People in power understand this.

The damage done by the teachers union is what will break the camels back and will push private/home schooling to the norm.

These people are fools and should never be put in a position to impact chlldren.

If they believed what they said, They wouldn't act the way they do

When will the sheep wake up

I can’t understand how they don’t see what’s happening.

It’s scary how brainwashed and programmable these leftists are.

The fallout of lockdowns will show that it was one of the worst decisions made in human history.

In an age where kids are soft as charmin, i'd still never do that to my kids. These are people without common sense.

I have my doubts as to the validity of those claims though.
