Score board watching

It seems Pivetta and Alfaro got into today after that first go ahead homer. Pivetta had shook him off twice just before it. Then after the homer Pivetta refused to catch multiple balls Alfaro threw back to the mound, lol.

Cardinals currently beating the Dodgers 1-0, trying to avoid 4 game sweep at home. Rockies and Dodgers kick off a huge series in LA tomorrow. They're currently tied for first.

Meanwhile the Cardinals have a really tough last 4 series. @ Atlanta, home vs San Fran and Milwaukee, and end the season @ Cubs.

Looks like the wild card spots will come down to a battle between Milwaukee, St Louis, and whichever of the Dodgers or Rockies loses the NL West.

Probable starters:

Braves vs Cardinals
Monday: Foltynewicz vs Mikolas
Tuesday: Sanchez vs Gomber
Wednesday: Toussiant vs Flaherty

Mets at Phillies
Monday: Wheeler vs Arrieta
Tuesday: Matz vs Nola
Wednesday: Syndergaard vs Eflin

Rockies now have a half game lead in the division. This next series is huge. If the Rockies can somehow take it and open up a lead in that division it would be great. Having them instead of the Dodgers in the first round would do wonders for our playoff chances.

I really hope there is a 1-game playoff for the 2nd WC.

I kind of hope there isn't. I know this is getting a little too far down the rabbit hole, but think about it. If the Cubs get the 1 seed they'll be playing the winners of that wild card. If the wild card has to burn its top two starters before the start of the first round, the Cubs chances in that series become much better. I still think best case scenario for us would be facing the Rockies in the NLDS and then the Brewers in the NLCS.

Honestly, I think this Braves team could beat or lay an egg against any of the NL playoff teams; I just hope they can play well this week, wrap the division, start resting guys and aligning their NLDS rotation—and maybe eclipse 90 wins as a bonus.

This is 100% my thought process. I'd love to get some of the bench bats a few start. A good Duvall would be huge for us.

With all the pitchers on the roster not doing anything, do teams ever play simulated games to get guys like Duvall and Duda some PAs that resemble game speed?

Everyone has pitched recently except for Bryse Wilson. I guess he could throw a simulated game to some of the guys on the bench: Duda, Duvall, Ruiz, Adams, Flaherty.

How many games would a Duda, Duvall, Ruiz, Adams, Flaherty lineup lose?

It's a very young team and has proven to be very inconsistent at times as expected, so that goes right along with what you said.
