Sean Murphy with a hip tear

Honestly this is good news. It gets him out of the lineup so he cant tank anymore. And if he has had this injury for 3 years thats good because that lines up almost perfectly with when he turned into Melvin. If there wasnt something wrong then theres nothing to fix and he just sucks. Now he got his eyes fixed, his hip fixed, has anyone asked him if he needs anything else fixed while we are at it?

Comparing Murphy to BJ Upton is idiotic.
 
Regardless of what the injury actually is, this is another data point showing why catchers age so poorly.

Trading a young catcher for an old catcher was not a great idea. Extending the old catcher was another bad idea. Failing to cash out on the old catcher when another young one made him redundant is strike 3.

The series of deals involving Murphy is the exact moment AA began thinking he was smarter than he actually is, and it has gotten worse from there. Hopefully he can eat some humble pie and correct course.

This. Absolutely 100% spot on.
 
Snit continued to play an injured Ozuna when he was terrible to help tank the playoff chances, so it stands to reason they would bench the injured guy now to tank the draft pick chances.
